Default pnp2 wideband questions.

I'm new to the forum and new to megasquirt. I've been trying to find out if I need a wideband when i hook up my megasquirt to get it to run half decent. Ive searched a bunch and haven't really found a definitive yes or no. Also if I do need the wideband can I remove the stock o2 and use the WB sensor in the factory o2 bung.

Yes and yes. Can't use OEM wiring for the WB though.

So I should just hook up the wideband as this booklet says. And I can use the o2 signal wire for analog output? Or do I have to run it to pin 14 on the extra connector on the ecu?

The analog out from the WB needs to be connected to the O2 input on the MS. How you achieve this as easily as possible with your particular setup is up to you.

Alright sweet. Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have any suggestions on which wideband to run?

Most people like the Innovate MTX-L or the LC-2. Quick response times and reasonably priced. The AEM UEGO seems to be quite popular as well.

I think I'm gonna go with the mtx-l. One more question, do you guys know if the the 3 ft sensor cable will be long enough or should I order the 8 ft and just find somewhere to put the leftovers?

I had the same concern, went with the long one just to be safe. Haven't installed it yet, so can't tell you how much cable I wasted yet.

I also ordered the long one. Should be here Monday I'm excited to get it all hooked up.
