Default mspnp no start

hey guys finally got a mspnp that i got a great deal on. anyway i did the iat mod, ran the map line, have the ecu plugged into the car, and after fighting to get communication, the car seems to be giving a reversed throttle response. no foot on peddle im getting high numbers but at WOT im getting zero? im very confused and if anyone has any idea as to whether the wiring on the harness is wrong or the megasquirt itself please let me know any help is useful. thanks !

p.s car cranks but does not start, not sure if this is due to the tps problem or what.

Idk if that was meant to be a serious question or a sarcastic one. This is a 90 1.6 manual miata i got the megasquirt used but is plug and play to my harness and was told it came off a 1.6 90 also. Just having trouble with the tps thing was curious if anyone else has had the problem

AFAIK '90s don't have TPS. Just a switch.

yeah ive read that recently. so, next question is what do i do? is there something i have to do to make it work or is the reason for the car not starting due to something else not having to do with the tps

Your best bet would be to give us more information. Like is this a stock vehicle? Stock fuel? Stock ignition? What map are you using? Have you verified if you are getting fuel? What about spark? Can you hear the fuel pump prime?

We aren't there next to you, we need to know everything you know.

run map dot or get a Variable TPS to solve solve the problem with the tps. Does your tach move while you are trying to start. Also like already stated check fuel and spark.

hey guys thanks for the replies. i found out i need to unplug the ignitor to let the ms read apparently. and the tps is useless as ive read. so today i will be attempting start up again. i ran a 12v relay to the fuel pump also. hopefully this works out today, will keep posted!
