Default Timing and startup

I have a 97 turbo miata running mspnp2 and i had a perfectly running tune that i deleted. So i had to re download the base map and to my surprise it was scaled for boost so i loaded it on tunerstudio re set my timing to 10 degrees and my car wont start keeps on cranking but wont start so i droped the crank rpm to 300 and it took forever to start after pushing a couple of times on the throttle so i rechecked the timing several ways( i tried to adnvance and retard it ) so i tried the old way by turning the pulley and locating the tdc with a straw and it was around 6 degrees (is it normal) so i set the timing with the cas at 6 while reading 10 in tunerstudio and same thing it wouldnt start any suggestions ?

In my experience, you can be pretty off on timing and still get it to cough to life. Fuel not so much. Id try messing with crank PW. Also AFR gauges are not to be trusted reading exhaust that hasn't actually been combusted.

Keep a backup next time. I mean like on a CD or something that can't get erased as easily.

6-10 BTDC is fine. I think I crank at 6 TBH, then switch to table once fired. But I've seen everything from 4-14 be successful for starting so...

did you try to recover the file?

in windows explorer you can right click on tunerstudio directory and goto previous versions tab, and revert the folder content to a time in the past when you still had the file there.

i just looked on my win7 pc and i can go back as far as 3 weeks ago.
