Default Car started but requires FP/GND jumper

I finally got my car to start it still has issues like temp sensors being off (CLT WAY off) and IAC issues, among others, but my main issue was that MS wasn't turning on the fuel pump and keeping it on while cranking. With the jumper in place the car starts and runs.

What would cause this and how do I fix it (software setting possibly)? Car is a 97 and it's a stand alone setup.

I have datalogs of it running and of what happens when the jumper is pulled while running.

Thanks for any help provided.

Well working with what you told me, I would bust out a multimeter and get to checking. See if you have continuity from the output pin on the mega squirt all the way back to your stock harness. Also make sure you wired it in to the right pin. To test it you might be able to unplug the stock harness and clip a wire from the oem fp wire to ground(not sure if that will work). That should tell you if you have a wiring problem either in your fp wiring or your harness(most likely). Make sure you are following the wiring diagram from BRAINEACK found here: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t13676/

According to that diagram you fuel pump should be on a y/r wire.
