Default Cna't connect laptop to MSPnP

Well, I have tried to check the Com Port but every time i plug the USB adapter into my computer it says it cant recognize/configure the Device..

IDK I've looked everywhere and this is my last resort.. anyone know how to fix this?

I'm using a serial to USB adapter.

You need the proper driver from DIY Autotune, let me find it. Go here:

invest into a good serial to USB adapter. i had issues before with the same thing.

one that i've known to work really well is the Keyspan, it is pretty expensive though for what it is. Keyspan USA-19HS

i've used it for both megasquirt and AEM EMS no issues at all

I hear a lot about people having issues with the USB-Serial adapters, what about using a pcmcia serial card instead?

In addition to the one DIY sells, I've had good luck with USB-RS232 adapters using the GUC-232(A) chipset such as this one: IOGEAR - GUC232A - USB to Serial RS-232 Adapter

They're marketed under a variety of brand names including IOGear, and can sometimes be found in the bargain bin as whitebox specials. I've found them to work with both MS1 and MS2, on a variety of machines from ancient Pentium-II tablets to modern systems, running 2000 and XP. I've not tried it under Vista, but they claim it works.

I haven't heard as many stories about trouble with them.
