Default Did i do it or did something fail? or both?

I had been tuning my VE tables wile going to a friends house. i had upgraded to a walboro 190HP last week

the next morning, i go to turn it on, expecting to hear my fuel pump to prime its self, for a sec or so , but it just continues to run, never stopping.
After cranking multiple times and having it run for a few secs and then cutting off, once it gets to a certain temperature it will run fine

im thinking the stock FPR just failed and is just recirculating fuel back to the fuel tank, cause it sounds like gas is being flowd through it and the fuel rail very fastbut once it runs it is totally fine.

my WB displays 12.8-14:1 once it will run, and i have decreased the after start enrichment settings, but so far no luck once it gets to full operating temp it will run like a chanp

any suggestions on what else i should look at?

is there some other options i should look at in MS?

is megasquirt controlling your fuel pump directly or are you using the standard wiring with the fuel pump jumper installed? if the latter is your case, then its normal. mine does it like that too on the stock pump. Otherwise its a setting in megasquirt i guess.

i believe the pnp still just grounds it with ON. so it should just run.

MS controls everything through stock wiring

the pump used to run for 1-2 secs when i turn car to on, then stops
then would start on the first try

now i turn it to on and the pump wont stop running
and when i crank it it runs for a couple secs then dies

i have only been changing VE numbers and none down low near idle

Sounds to me like you should recheck your fuel pump install work.

the PNP doesn't run it the same way as the stock ecu. When, the MS sees a +12v from the ignition, it simply grounds the fuel pump on, iirc. So it will always be running, if the car is just chillin on ON.

even with the original pump, when i switch to on, the pump would run for a few secs then stop

then when i turn to ignition, it would go like normal

now if i turn to ON the pump just runs and does not stop

I have changed all setting in MS back to settings that worked before and the pump continues to run

can the stock FPR handle the walboro190HP? i dont know how the internal structure of the fpr looks like but it it possible i overpowered it and something is now leaking/broke internaly?

To clear things up a bit, the MSPNP does control the Fuel pump very similar to stock-- you'll get a 2sec fuel pump prime when you first turn the key (powering up the MS) and then the fuel pump will shut off until it see engine rpm. At this point the MS will activate the fuel pump any time it sees RPM. On the MM9093 model we added some custom circuitry

You've either got a problem with the wiring of your new fuel pump, or during the installation of that pump something was shorted (however briefly, wouldn't take but an instant) damaging the fuel pump control circuit of the MSPNP. Other possibilities are there, but far less likely. I've seen only one fuel pump circuit fail so far, it was on a wire-in MS, and was during installation on a car with wiring issues, a basket case that was dropped off at a local shop. We replaced a transistor and fixed it.

Even if it's a cooked circuit, we'll work with you to fix it...

The other remote possibility is code corruption-- you could reflash your firmware and reload the base map to test this. Save your map first, and UNPLUG YOUR IGNITORS until you've flashed the firmware and loaded the base map.

It's not the FPR-- it has nothing to do with the pump itself running. If your fuel pressure was running too high that could be a FPR restriction, but I wouldn't expect an issue with the 190.

UPDATE:
for some unknown reason, it is back to normal

new problem, the car will start like a champ, but after it warms up i get a high pitched noise, that when the car is shut off and everything stops, it gradually goes away, like something is depressurizing, any ideas?

Your gas cap? It helps to have a general area where the noise is coming from.

noise is coming from engine bay, on passenger side

it sound like air, and i have checked all my connections several times, and cannot find anything, im going to take it to work this weekend and rig something up to pressurize the intake and find something that makes smoke to find the leak
