Default converting a DIYPNP from one year to another

Just wanted to make sure of something. From what I gathered, the main DIYPNP board is the same for all miatas with the difference being the pinout connector from year to year.

So will I be able to purchase say a DIYPNP built for a 2000 miata and convert for a 1.6 miata and rewire the pinout correctly.

from this:
DIYPNP MegaSquirt installation for the Mazda Miata

to this:

Or, if the main board would need to be modified to work, how extensive would it be?

Sorry for the noob question and thanks in advance for any input.

20 wires to change from both sheet, Tunerstudio ignition value to change as well, get the other base map and you'll be fine.

Not too hard.

Thanks for the input.

Follow up question... Would modifying a MSPNP for a different year be the same? does it use jumper wires to the pinout the same way a DIYPNP does?

all the jumper wires from the diypnp pcb to the connector board would have to be changed.

modding a MSPNP would be MUCH more difficult.

Thanks for the input Brain. Are you still building MS3's for people? If so I'd like to order one. Electronics and circuitry is not one of my strong points.

Will a paypal payment help?

It's the last item on my "to buy" list for my turbo build and I was hoping to practice tuning it on the stock engine for a while before installing the kit. So that's my current bottle neck. I'd greatly appreciate it if you had the time to build me one.
