Default Coolant sensor question.

When running fuel off of Megsquirt and spark off of stock ECU, does ECU need to see a coolant sensor input? Can I just hook the sensor straight to MS?

What values for stock coolant sensor? Not the fan the switch.

'90 miata 1.6

I'm finally getting this thing going. Been stalling waaaay too long.

who the hell are you? JK nice name, ya the sensor can be hooked right up to megasquirt. Do a search for the values they are around somewhere I think unless phillip accidentally erased them the other day.

Am I right in saying the question you want answering is can the stock ECU operate without a coolant wire attached?

Aren't the fans operated with some kind of heat switch on the 1.6s. If so i don't see why the stock ECU would need to see the coolant temp.

The fans turn on when the thermoswitch is grounded. The thermoswitch is the guy sitting on the thermostat housing. About 207° triggers it to ground. So that should mean that even if the ECU doesn't see the CLT signal the fans will operate normally.
