Default 93 miata, working out buying/build MS plan

So I've been furiously reading through all the threads and trying to make sure I get off to the right start...

I'd ideally like to replace the ecu entirely with the MS system... I feel like I've seen it used mainly as a piggy back so far, is this the case? Have people fully figured out the fuel pump, cooling fans etc?

This car will be mainly track oriented, so no AC and such to bother with.

Buying list:
MS1 v3 (what exactly should I mention when I get it?)
OBD1 plugs (for plug/play harness)
GM sensors (might just splice the OEM ones, any real reason not too? iat i need though right because the stock one is in the MAF)
Map Sensor (thinking of using a spare 2.5 motorola I have)

Later thoughts... I'd like to use the LCD addon system. I'd be able to run an LC-1 or LM-1 through it right? Wideband viewable on it? How about EGT gauge's (would I need that auxilary board system for more in/out?)?

Sigh, so many questions... I'll stop typing for now... just toss your thoughts and comments in if you don't mind.

Thanks
Dave

nothing special when ordering, except you want it configured for an optical sensor.

get a GM IAT, splice stock coolant.

MS has a good MAP sensor already.

I don't know if any miata guys are using megaview yet. It is pretty neat, like the LINK controller.

I see two GM sensors on diyautotune.com
CLT/IAT and an Open Element IAT.... which do I want?

edit: Bought the ms1 and 18" pigtail and the bender tool. Let the project begin!

My intention to build up a MV when i get the MS working. as far as I'm aware, MV can't edit MSnSE settings, only view them. if you're just running standard MS then it can view and edit.

Im mainly interested in the MV to display realtime data from the ecu. I like it also for the warning feature for any measurements that get past warning markers. Basically a budget Stack or Aim display.

Good to know about that possible lack of setting modding from it.... i'll most likely have a laptop with the car fulltime though also.

Looks like i found the answer on the IAT sensor also. The MS site mentions the open air element ones are faster responding and ideal for boosted cars.... open air element it is

Looks like I was too slow to answer you, for ease of use I got both, the open air for the air temp and a closed element for the water :-) I couldn't be bothered faffing around with easytherm
