Now, should I chime in pictures of my latest projects? Why not...

Testing the ADC inputs and the converter functions on a louzy 128x64 LCD.

Driving mode (240x128).

Engine analysis mode (240x128).

Still lots of stuff to get in, most notably the data from the MS (VE, PW, IGN Advance, Knock, etc) and the "Racing mode" display.

that's awesome, I presume it just displays?

Any chance of a writeup?

Once things start to get final, sure! For now, it reads data from my MTS chain (Innovate products) plus the MS plus 8 analog (0-5V, 10bit) channels plus a yet undetermined number of "On-Off" (voltage, no voltage) channels (about 10 to 16).

I'm still looking for a way to interface a cheap $15 IR pyrometer to this setup (think 3 infrared pyrometers per wheel) plus infrared beacons to lay around the track (track time plus split times) and of course, datalogging to an MMC/SD card.

I'll put it on the 'to-do' list for this week to take a closer look, if i can get a good picture I will. I'm guessing open top it will wash out like most anything would, but closed top it should be fairly good. More to come...

A couple of shots of my prototype. Hint, it reads stuff from Innovate products (ie LC-1, LM-1, TC-4 etc) via the serial MTS bus!

Pretty awesome stuff man. Now when are you going to mount that badboy? Is it touch screen? How did you get it to read fuel level?

Umm, those are two totally different units. The one reverant just posted is his own design utilizing the innovative products daisy chained together using their base unit.
Don't know why i asked is it touch, when i knew the answer though, of course it is. I'm just curious how he got the fuel gauge to work.

With all those info .. Reverant can mount that to the dash as Tach, and have a steering wheel that controls them.

I got an instrument cluster fron a '99 for $50, I'm going to gut it and put this LCD and two more (a smallish 128x64 Vs this 240x128, and a bluetooth hands free LCD). The fuel level, I measured the resistance of the fuel tank sensor against the fuel level as shown by the stock fuel level gauge.

It actually isn't, it doesn't make sense since the screen will be mounter on the gauge cluster behind the clear protective plastic. The incar-pc screen is a touchscreen, which makes sense.

I see, I assumed you were going to install that unit in replacement of the incar-pc. That should be nice in replacement of the stock miata system.

One of the gripes I had with the incar-pc "dash" was that I needed to bootup the PC (ie 60 seconds with no readings) and the screen was a bit low if you need to constantly monitor the readings. No more.
