Default First time MegaSquirt user! (first time tuning too...)

Ok. So far i really like what ive seen in this megasquirt. Its the pnp2 for the 94 models. Im starting this thread for a few reasons.
1. A place for me to organize all my info and keep it stored online.
2. A chance for you guys to chime in if you see me making a no-no..
3. A place to ask questions once ive done my searching and cant seem to figure it out still.

im going to post up what came on the software for a base tune. took me forever to figure out how to get it to idle down.. but ive got it now. still surges on a cold start or when i let it sit for 20 min then restart. but im sure you guys and my searching can figure it out. Currently running the light version of tunerstudio. hearing i need to get the pro version so next paycheck thats most likely on my list.

things i dont understand 100% yet (will edit this list as my knowledge on tuning grows)
1. Desirable a/f ratios for dd and full throttle. (so far my research has shown full throttle you want around 12.6. highway cruise 15.5 light accel 13.5-14. could use clarification if im wrong
2. Desirable Spark tables and advance for dd and full throttle. (still need to research.)
3. figured out.
4. figured out.
5. figured out.
6. car has issue idling.. it idles fine until i put a load on it. (i.e. blower motor. headlights) then the idle drops. need to research and any pointers will be nice.
7. a/c idle up.. i tried setting it up.. gives two options. (launch) and (tableswitch) tried both.. neither worked. need to research and any pointers will be nice.
8. set the air fuel ratio with the ve table. drives great. dont really understand the point of the actual a/f chart.. need to research and any pointers will be nice.

any help is always greatly appreciated! and if someone in the dfw tx area wants to school me hmu!

almost forgot. car is bone stock except for exhaust and cat delete. also have a wideband installed.

if there is a way to upload my tune file for the gurus to look at that would be sweet also. maybe explain some issues they may see.
thanks in advance

I'm fairly certain .msq and .msl (logs) are valid file extensions that MT.net will allow you to upload.

Under the More Settings tab, it says shift light/fan/output 3+4. You can set your fan on/off temp at the bottom of the window.

full throttle and "dd" doesn't really matter in terms of AFR, it has more to do with RPM and boost levels. Go figure.

Search around, there are plenty of threads with decent target tables. But to sum up: stoich at idle, 11-12 at high rpm/boost, and high 15s in cruise cells for gas mileage.

just got the wideband installed into the exhaust.... im sooooooo glad i havent driven the car much.. super rich idle (11.6) super lean cruising down the highway (17.2) (explains the pinging under load in high gear) and when i blip the throttle it maxes out the rich for a split second and smokes like crazy. time to start tuning tomorrow.

Search for spark tables, but really you're just guessing until you go to a dyno.

Look for a little richer if you're boosted, 11.6ish. Leaner if you're N/A, 13 I'd say.

My friend and I made 115hp with low to mid 13s on a N/A 1.6. Definitely do your own research, but that worked well for us.

back for more knowledge!!!. been super busy with moving and a new job. so haven't had much time to tinker with the car... also texas weather decided to destroy the body.. none the less im still going turbo. i got around to trying to connect the aem wideband i got to the megasquirt. ive read to use the white wire and the instructions i got with the mspnp2 say pin 21 is for the wideband. ive ran the wire but cant get it to read correctly.. (dont know what settings to change.) i did quite abit of googling and searching on the forum... everything said to use megatune. never heard of it.. so googled it.. turns out its now obsolete. says to do so in tuner studio. i cant seem to find a tutorial on setting it up in tunerstudio. would anyone have a link to a guide? thanks in advance!

Go to file-project-properties. There's a pull down menu for which o2 sensor you're using.

You'll also have to change the o2 settings in the tune , forget which menu that is.
