Default Fried coils

I finally fried the coils on my 99. I loaded the new MS2E beta then plugged it in. I had thought MS was disconnected from the car but it wasn't. MS was running with the default settings for about 10 minutes and that was enough. I walked back out into the garage and there was a strong smell of burnt electronics.

Just to be clear, this was my fault and not the new beta. Regardless, they can find a new beta monkey. I'm going to stick to my own code for a while.

****, this sucks!

Plans to go COPs or do you just need some replacement coils?

I forgot about going COP. That's not a bad idea. I also have a pair of GM coils and a pair of VB921's that I never used.

I think I'll just replace the stock ones, though. I really don't want to take on any new projects right now. Where is a good place to get them?

It's funny, Chad. Literally days after you ask me how my MS project is doing I do this.

I really appreciate the offer Paul, but I ended up ordering new ones right after I posted. I was so pissed at myself, I had to do something to fix it so I could get some sleep.

If you goto the dealer and tell them you don't need them and they don't leave they should take them back.

Thanks King, but I daily drive my Miata and I'd like to return it to the stock baseline as soon as possible. I'm going to try the Toyota COP idea this spring but even then I'm going to save the stock coils for back up.
