Default warmup issues... AGAIN

ok now this glitch is getting old...

i set up my own MSQ today based off of the PNP settings... ran great and had no more issues with warmup enrich... until i shut off the car after it had been idling and the CLT reached over about 160...

Whenever i attempt to start it up with the CLT that high the warmup guage pegs out at like 200% and the car is super rich to the point where it wont run

Its a weird glitch that is really pissing me off... any ideas?

Ill post my MSQ as soon as i find a way to host it somewhere

ill play with them 2morro...

But you keep saying AIT corrections.......... it is my warmup enrichment guage that is reading crazyness... as in:

Guage select- warmup enrichments

are those 2 connected at all, cause otherwise how would my AIT corrections have anything to do with warmup??... the megasquirt is going into warm up mode!!!!

i used easytherm to get the correct values for my sensors..all that is correct. Braineack is talking about the IAT air density correction.

2402miataowner, you gotta down and explain whats happening slowly. AIT correction are only good to correct a heatsoaked air temp sensor, you are talking about something totally different hear.

exactly... tahts wat i was trying to say....

Let me start....

-Today i made my own MSQ based on the maps and settings from the PNP base map. (attempting to load my msq on my school server so i can host it and link u guys to it)
-it drove great and the AFR looked pretty close...didnt even tune yet
-i encountered heatsoaking so i plugged in some great values in the IAT air density correction...problem solved
-drove the car maybe 10-15 miles lightly today with no issues
-came home and sat in the driveway at idle
-coolant temp reached over 160 but it still sat and idled great... corrections took care of my IAT heatsoaking
-shut off my car for a few minutes, went to start it up the warmup enrichments go crazy... the warmup enrichment guage reads 150-200% and the car goes extreamly rich and wont run.
-i randomly got the glitch to stop by restarting my laptop and megatune... but it did it again once i shut the car back off.... it keeps doing it as long as the CLT temp is high...so i gave up after i got HLA tick from the car starving of oil ... lol

when i open up the warmup enrichments page durring this problem the black arrow is nowhere to be seen.

First of all, how do your coolant temps only reach 160 at idle? They should be in the 200's if you set up easy therm right.

Second. I have no clue there was a warmup enrichments gauge. But. I know that the WE's are percentages that range from -40F all the way to 160F where it shuts off. Have you looked into the warmup enrichments wizard to see where the black arrow is? What temp is it at, I dont care about the percentages because thats user settable. If its at 200%, I bet its at -40F, and thats probably due to incorrect therm settings. Unless you have 200% enrichment setup for some other temperature value.

Your problems with your idle are due to incorrect therm settings. How did you compile the new therm files into your firmware?

read my post... the black arrow is off the charts.... therm settings are pretty damn close... it is 35 degrees out!.... my warmupsettings are no where near 200% anyway. im emailing him my msq now...

here are my easytherm values

IAT-stock GM

CLT-
bias= 1205 (stock)..r7 removed
-4*F 16000 ohms
68*F 2450 ohms
140*F 580 ohms

these were given to me in anouther thread and seem to be the closest values yet

I wrote the inc and s19 files.... then i renamed it msns-extra.s19 (replacing the original file) so that the download-firmware application would recognize it and burn it. everything flashed correctly and the values were changed

email ME your MSQ. once at 160° there shouldn't be any warmup enrichments....if you notice, you can't change the value of the 160° slot anything but 100%.

what temps do you fans kick on at?

I know... thats the point

there is a serious glitch or something occuring... the black arrow is no where to be seen and the warmup is higher than i have even at -40*F

... ill email you now

btw stock ecu is controlling fans and all that good stuff

EDIT..what is your email, i dont see it in ur info

Is it just me or do those numbers seem really wrong?

As for 35 degrees out, even with the wrong bias and using the easy therm values mine werent that off. But now using the easy therm values and 1205 for bias, mine are only 10 off.

I think you should solve your temp readings before we can even try to help you further. MS does some scewy things with the wrong readings.

Yessir. I am getting only a 10 degree discretion from the AIT, and the AIT I know is right because it shows the same thing my digital thermometer does.

Btw, did you miss a 0, because it should be 16000 ohm I believe.

edited thank you..

i seem to remember i was having issues with using rx7 defults and 1205 for bias... i think it was saying my cold start coolant was like 55* when it was a 25* night

And you pulled R7 on your MS?

Btw, I think I may have been wrong, I think I was getting that much deviation with the wrong Bias.

yea i pulled r7. I am pretty confident in my numbers, they cant be TOO far off... im getting 155-160*F cruizing temp and 160-175 idle temps... while they may be off a little, they are the best numbers i have gotten so far. Considering i have a whole other thread describing that problem i want to try and figure out this subject... warmup glitch
