Default Has anyone heard from Reverant? MS2E firmware frustration

Has anyone gotten ahold of them in the past few weeks? I had contacted them a while back, asked if swapping out the 2 bar map sensor for the 4 bar mapdaddy so I could run the second one that was built in as baro correction, they said yes.

Yes you can install that sensor, no issues with doing that.

Swaped it, baro correction did not work, contacted them again, they said, no, it requires a second 1 bar map sensor to be installed for baro correction.

The expansion board, what exactly needs to be connected to what?

the MAP sensor needs to be soldered on bottom side of the green board inside the ECU. Please open the ECU, take a picture of the bottom of the board, and I'll show you where (I unfortunately don't have any of these boards anymore to illustrate it myself).

Dimitris

So, go back in and cut the wire just to severe, no soldering, so connection wise the one wire was removed, and the baro correction setting was turned off in the tune. During disassembly, I bent a pin on the main chip, so replaced with the same MS2 chip part number on it with one from DIY, but required firmware to be flashed due to new chip. Got firmware 3.1.0e and ever since then, the car does not want to run properly, VEAL cannot nail down a good fuel map, a soft rev limit at 2000 rpm at anything under 60kPa, nothing is seeming to work right with the new firmware. Not sure if I was given the wrong firmware or what, the car ran perfectly on the firmware it had originally came loaded with, but not sure what the number was as I did not think to look at it at the time, and I have had nothing but issues since the new firmware.

No one on this forum is getting any replies from them, and according to this thread several people have emailed them.

Has anyone been able to get a hold of them, or have copies of the firmware for the MS2 Enhanced?

Where did you get the firmware you loaded? The MS2E from MSLabs can ONLY use firmware from them. You may need to arrange to send the unit back to MSLabs to fix/change.

Not true. You can load any firmware you want with an mslabs ecu, I asked Reverant this very question. Just make sure you load a matching base tune to the firmware so you have all his I/Os.

This is incorrect. His MS2 Enhanced use a custom firmware and if you try to load an official MS2 firmware you will have issues. His MS3's use the official firmwares.

QFT regarding MS2 Enhanced and MS3-Basic.
It may be that that MS3 Enhanced and Exteme uses custom FW like the MS2 Enhanced. I conjecture this because Rev waited until he got license for FW before he released the Enh and Ext some versions of MS3. . See post #10, below.

@Reverant, could you add the correct info to your chart: https://www.mslabs.gr/mslc.html

I have both an MS2E and a MS3Basic I bought from him. The MS2E firmware is his I was told in an earlier email when I asked if I could use stock firmware. I think this is a problem that happens on people who buy a used MS2E and think they can just burn new firmware and don't understand an MS2 isn't the same from anywhere.

The MS3 uses stock firmware according to his post here in answer to @shuiend; https://www.miataturbo.net/ms-labs-m...2/#post1330005

But, to be honest, I haven't upgraded the MS3 firmware yet because I've not installed it (still working on engine stuff).

Like you asked, it would be nice for @Reverant to clarify on his data sheet which firmware can be used where, or not.

I loaded the firmware they gave me, 3.1.0e

Not sure if this was the special one or not.

On the other DIY MS3x asterisks, I don't have any idea. That has to do with how you build it, right?

The current gen MS2 and MS3 units all use stock firmware, even the Enhanced and Extreme units. The MS3s always used stock firmware. Some MS2s used modified firmware, most of these units are 3-7 years old by now.

No individually configurable idle-up delay for the compressor and the two fans. No configurable start-up delay. No cut-off if you are overheating. Idle-up duty is not configurable by coolant temp.

Thanks. Well thought out. Tuning can get pretty detailed to one truly skilled in the art.

It's still misleading without explicitly comparing what it can or cannot do -- or what you have added extra...
