Default Have I built my MS1V3 incorrectly?

Hey Guys,

I have recently bought a pre assembled MS1 V3. I have carried out the Miata specific modifications as it says on the Wiki, the only problem is I followed the diagrams on on MS2 page Will this be ok or do I need to carry out the MS1 mods?

MS2 diagrams won't quite work for MS1; several pins are different.

Doh! Thanks for letting me know, I will rectify them before installation. I have carried out the Joe. P Spark mod too, does this need to be removed aswell?

no that's fine. it's really only the tach input mod that matters.

that and js9 should not connect to anything.

Thanks Brian, so can I just clarify if I leave the CKP mod (470 ohm resistor to D1 and D9) out, am I going to have any issues? Only reason I ask is because I ran out of 470 ohm resistors :(

you need to follow this: Mainly the red wire/resistors/ off the labeled tach input. the yellow wire/resistor. and that .1uf cap.

the rest should matter, but if the spark outputs are crossed you should uncross them.

D1 and D2 should be jumped, and R12 should be the stock resistor.

Great help thanks Brian. I have D1 and D2 jumped and a 470 ohm 1/4w resistor in R12. I have my spark outputs the other way round from that diagram like it said on the Joe P spark mod. Do I need to change these back even with this mod?

yes, just change the IGN with IAC2B position (its a matter of the MS2 and MS1 having different Spark As). You can leave the 470ohm, shouldn't be a big deal.

Thanks again - carried out the above modifications and she started very roughly but i think thats just down to needing to calibrate everything. Only issue I had is megatune kept reporting a conflict with signatures. The units signature kept coming up as question marks? It hooks up fine in tunerstudio
