Default MS3 Basic in, '99 won't run

I got the MS3-Basic in. Tuner Studio logged on, no problem.

Loaded ini from Reverant.

Car tries to start, but won't. "Boost" gauge shows vacuum on a tee'd line, so the MS should be seeing MAP.

Stock everything except WB02 and MS3.

A bit of back-firing into intake. Have tried to adjust the fixed timing +/- about 3 degrees, but that did not help

Attached is the MSQ

Any help welcome

Found the first problem. Was set up for 600cc/min injectors, and sequential. Changed to 245cc setting and now it starts and runs.

I do have another question: The AIT and the CLT are both way wrong. It is about 10*C out and the TS gauges are showing 60*C?

Now to go set base timing.

Check the AIT with a ohm meter and google "gm ait resistance table" then compare the resistance with the table and get a temp reading. then use the internetz anf figure how hot it is in your area and compare with AIT. I should be very close. I was reading 80F and it was 76 out and 4+ of engine bay heat. Which is normal. Though everything feels like 60 to me so that's why it feels off, but it shouldnt.

This ECU is calibrated for a GM IAT, not the stock IAT.

EDIT: MY ANSWERS TO MY OWN QUESTIONS IN CAPS

Are they not fairly close? I guess I will calibrate my actual sensors soon. Meanwhile idle is pretty good, especially when warm, except richer than I would think necessary. I THINK THEY ARE PRETTY CLOSE, AND THE REAL CULPRIT WAS NOT USING BRAIN'S MAT CORRECTION CURVE. NEVERTHLESS, I CALIBRATED MY GM AIT SENSOR TODAY AND WILL INSTALL AND BEGIN TO USE IT ASAP.

98,000 OHMS AT -37*C, 2370 OHMS AT 28*C, AND 188.5 OHMS AT 97*C WERE MY RESULTS.

Meanwhile, I am using VEAL to tune non-idle to the AFR targets.

To that end, I have (4) questions:
1) Why and when to use the separate Idle VE Settings Table, rather than the blocks in the main VE table? MUCH BETTER (FINER) CONTROL
2) How does one turn on idle Closed Loop control of AFR (for when I get the open loop AFR where I want it)? I THINK THAT ONCE ONE IS USING CLOSED LOOP IN GENERAL, JUST MOVE THE MINIMUM RPM SETTING TO INCLUDE IDLE. IF THAT IS NOT CORRECT, I WILL RE-POST THE QUESTION.
3) Is it correct that I turn on closed loop non-idle control, in General Settings / Incorporate AFR Target? NO. THAT IS DONE ON THE EGO PAGE. IAFRT SEPARATES AFR FROM VE TABLES BY ADDING IT TO THE PULSE EQUATION. I CONVERTED ALL OF MY VE BLOCKS BY MULTIPLYING ALL THE OLD ONES BY THE CORRESPONDING (NOT 1:1 AS TABLES ARE DIFFERENT SIZES) AND THEN DIVIDING EACH PRODUCT BY 14.7. THEN LOADED THOSE VALUES INTO THE VE TABLE AND TURND ON IAFRT. WORKED GREAT! ACTUAL AFR'S WERE RIGHT WHERE THEY WERE BEFORE AND I'M ON THE "NEW" SYSTEM (WHICH MAKES GOOD SENSE TO ME).
4) Under Engine and Sequential Settings, there is a choice of timing control, Angle Specifies... However, where does one actually enter and adjust the angle? Injector Timing Table? If so, Any input on good settings for idle, and why is it presently set for 360, rather than 0? I'M GOING TO GUESS THAT THIS IS SO ADVANCE DOES NOT REQUIRE NEGATIVE ENTRIES.
