Default It's alive MS2 doing fuel only

I still dont have my new 02 sensor yet but using the maps from here and the vast expertise of Adbradley and Gejernigan. I finally nailed idle and took the car down the raod and back. time for the 460's and use al houno's map unaltered well abit altered. As my RRfpr and WI cut the system at 4 psi but other than that no problems I hope to have 15 psi by friday with the performance to match now i just have to work out how to get the 4+ psi correction factor going when the WI hits. On a lighter note i can't seem to run spark, i set it to Yes inverted and the ignitor does not heat up but the car deosn't want to run spark i see the timming on the MS screen reading the cas but other than that nothing anybody have any ideas? thanks

how it is wired? like DIY with the two resistors on the back? do you get any combustion/spark?

havent checked that adam is the only person who has been inside my MS case. "I switch to MS spark and try to start and nothing happens i switch to stock and it fires right up, i try to switch on the fly and it dies.

I couldn't get spark with it wired that way, as haven't some others, as well as the spark outputs being reversed.

see my "not turning over" thread....

Cjernigan seems to have the resistor mod wokring on his '99 but had to reverse the spark output as well.

take off plug wire 1...stick a bit of wire into it and then stick the other end of the wire near the lift hook thing.

tr to start, see if you have any spark at all...if not, you might wanna wire something a bit different (shouldnt take more than 2mins)

I used DIY autotunes mods which is what Adam did to your MSI as well. I had to switch my Spark outputs though because it wouldn't spark the way you would think it should be wired up i believe. That solved my problem straight up. So yeah MSI with DIYs mods and spark outputs switched works in my '99, but my name is Chad.

Yes i dont like to broadcast other info on the interweb. Adam modded my ecu the kingflo way so any mods would be a major PITA, gues i will run fuel only for a while. Solder and me dont get along.

you wouldn't have to do anything on the ECU side, on the back of the MS....would only require removing two resistors (if they are even there) and move two wires to a different pin.

try seeing if you have spark at all first. shove a wire into #1, put that wire near a ground (in such a fashion that you can see it when cranking), try to crank, watch for sparks...if you dont see any then something is wired wrong.

if you get spark and the thing just wont start up but will combust/pop/backfire the outputs are most likely reversed. (which is just moving two wires)

My UPC was there but no serial number and I had batt voltage going out analog 1 right into the stock ECU that was expecting 1v. I cut open the case and found where the short was and coated it w/ liquid electrical tape. Seems to be working OK now.

Dammt Magna, that's why I asked you if you were sure your sensor was bad.

Are you using the first alpha code that they have been testing or is there a more recent MSII Extra code that has the miata wheel setup?

Natesully has his miata working with the MSII Extra alpha code. His documentation is included in this thread on the msextra forum.

Not sure if you're talking to me or Magna. If me, I'm running the beta 2.86 of Bruce and Al MSII code. I'm going to hold off a little longer before I go MS2S&E.

I feel yo arga but i am not handy enough nor are my hands small enough to do some of that finiky electrical crap, the unit either works or it doesn't. I might have gotten screwed but i shall see seller says talk to inovative and if they say it is defective he will replzce it free.

My latest datalog it is getting closer so far 80 miles with MS and it keeps getting better. I am thinking of adding a little fuel around peak torque to maybe pick some more up overall it works very well though.

that is with the MBC on low setting. yeah i believe i am missing abit of torque around 5K-5.6K so i will richen that a hair and see if it picks up. Yeah stock timming map with 10 degrees base that puts me at. somewhere around 26 or so btdc around peak RPM i was surprised i only hit 7250 i was sure i would bounce of the limiter. my tach read like 8K that was fun. i need to switch back to RP 20-50 though i am beating the hell out of the 10-40 i have in there now and am lossing pressure after warmup vs cold. still i am very impressed autotune works like a charm i can set my AFR's for what ever i like and drive and autotune will make it so. This is a sweet deal. maybe in a week or so i will turn up the boost to 15 psi and see what these 460's can do then decide on maybe a 2-1 RRFPR or find some 600's i haven't decided yet good times. Also it was about 80 or so degrees when i made that run alot of it at 80-120 mph and only like 170 Degrees farenheit for coolant temp. You front mount guys must just have to much obstruction. Also this is on a few months old methanol mix i am mixing some more up today to see if it livens things up.

Have you tried using Megalog Viewer Richy, it works quite a bit better than autotune and will give you a much better map with a good 15-20 min datalog.
