Default Launch Control

So my launch control was just cutting Spark only but now is cutting spark and fuel outta no where. I went into my msq and confirmed that Spark only is selected. Im thinking I may need to reload the firmware? Any Ideas? I tried switching to Spark and Fuel and back to Spark Only. It is still cutting spark and fuel.

Could be some other fuel cut setting kicking in; can you post an MSQ and data log?

Figured it out just to update the thread. I had some how had incorporate AFR on when I updated firmware. I turned it off problem solved and retuned just for safe measure.

That has nothing to do with a fuel cut.

it's also not a setting that should played with ***** nilly...

So you're suggesting that you used to sit on the lauch limiter and blow fireballs out the back of the car, but now it suddenly stopped, but then you completely changed your fueling algorithm and you now have fireballs again to impress your friends?

After I updated the firmware I tuned my fuel table at the same time. I went to go use LC and I noticed I was leaning out all the way. I went through my whole tune and noticed it was on and I never remembered having it on in the past. So I turned it off and retuned my fuel. Now everything's is good under LC and I'm not leaning out. Something about launching lean doesn't sit well with me. I sort of understand it was changing my algorithm as when I changed my LC settings my afr acted different as well as when under load my afrs were not as rich as before and I would not go as lean on decell. If I'm wrong please correct me so I can better understand. Thanks.

Thats what was said to me in my pnp thread about launch control but then i found another thread that stated if you had CC then you had to unplug a neutral safety switch on the transmission.

I'm going to try that when it warms up and see if that helps.

Yeah you need to unplug two little white connectors on top of the tranny. At least thats what I had to do on my 1.8.

Whats the best way to get to the connectors? from the top next to the shift leaver or under the car?

Question for you all... How do you determine your launch timing and your flatshift timing? How about what rpms for flatshift and launch?

Well I finally went up under and unplugged both white connectors but still launch control didn't work. Are there any specific instructions for setting up LC on a 1.6?

Just a thought..

Becareful of spark only cut on flatshift

I cut 5 of 7 sparks and hydrolocked my engine at about 4000rpm and 100mph and bend 2stock rods. Had to rebuild the engine.

I will never **** with launch control or flatshift again

You need to look up what pin your clutch switch goes too. It should be the same as what Brain uses and I know he has posted it before. You can also find it by looking up the factory shop manual and looking at the harness diagram. You may have it wired incorrectly.

Sounds like your tune was bad. Im cutting I believe 4 of 5 and havent had any issues. I really think there was something wrong with your fuel table. I would like to see your tune that you broke your engine on if you could post it up. If it was spark cut only I'd like to know now rather than later lol
