Default baro correction

i'm looking to upgrade my map sensor with either the 3 bar from RS autosport or the mapdaddy 4 bar with baro correction.

pretty big price difference... and either will cover the MAP range i need.

the question is... is baro correction really worth having in a boosted application? any time i'm at a high load, my engine MAP is pretty much unrelated to the actual barometric pressure... right?

do you live in the mountains? If you could follow simple directions like stating your location, this thread could already be done with.

That's too hard to do.

then you probably don't need it. The MAP sensor "calibrates" or whatever when you turn the computer on or off.

These are the standards we live by...thin the herd.

If your drives include changes in elevation then baro correction is a real good idea.

I had this topic with Abe once, afaik he said the baro correction wouldn't work correctly? I have a second sensor already installed but never switched the baro off due to this...

Maybe it's a MS2 problem? I would be grateful for any input...

i dont really experience any major elevation changes for the most part, so i'm going with the 3 bar to save a few bucks (and get higher resolution)

from what I've heard as well the baro corrections doesn't work well as the smart guys who wrote the code don't understand certain things about density and what-not....

seemed to work OK for me
guess I didn't pay real close attention but my a/f was always fine when driving to the mountains.
