Default Non linear TPS signal, jumps around, tried everything.

Hey guys,

So I wired up a VL turbo TPS to this car, the white na6 18PSI loves

And the signal jumped all over the shop.

So I sent it to gslender, and he tested the ecu and got a linear readout, and updated the firmware to a non broken version.

So I ordered a new universal TPS from Wolf ECU and its does the same god damned thing.

If you calibrate the tps, and then you open and close it the tps might go to 130% at WOT.

So you calibrate it and now it only goes to 85% at WOT.

And then you open it slowly and smoothly and it might hit 12% by half way down then jump to 40% soon after drop to zero for a bit and so on untuil it ends up at 126.3% or some ****.

So WTF, is there something basic Ive missed or do I need to run fresh wires from TPS to the MS or what?

its a brain MS2.

Thanks,
Dann

Run fresh wires in parallel as a test, but I'm sure you'll find it is a grounding issue or something.

Hey thanks Sab.

You suggest just run the around the engine bay and through the window scotch locked in place to test?

is there ANYTHING else it can be?

Yeah, just temporary wiring is worth a shot.

Does it still do it with the ignition on but the car not running?

I've seen a very similar issue on a 94 1.8 (MS1) and it turned out being a dodgy ground in the loom, it was doing weird stuff with the TPS and from memory the coolant sender too.

Check resistance, jiggle wires and see if you can get it to act up?
