Okay, you guys win, I am coming to the dark side (MS-II pcb V3.0 ordered)
The "key" feature that drove me to MS-II was the flex fuel support. E-85 makes excellent race fuel, but is not always available.

While I am waiting, I am playing with megatune. I was looking at some of the MS-1 features because a had a MSPnP map to look at, and ran across the Anti Rev settings.

It appears from the screens that based on the rate of increase of RPM it will pull timing etc to limit power and reduce the wheel spin. I can't seem to find any documentation on it. That could be just because I don't know where to look though.

So to the questions:
1) Where would I find the documentation if it exits?
2) Has anyone used it and what were your results?
3) Are there any plans for this to be ported to MS-II? If not, who would I make a plea to to get that changed?

anit much else to it really, and anit much documention...might search google for anyone whos tried it. i wanted to play with it, never get around to it.

It was always kind of experimental and not widely used. I can email you a copy of an archived page on it but if you want to see if it could go in a future version of MS2/Extra, your best bet is to ask about it in the MS2/Extra code development forum on msextra.com.

Getting excited here, can't wait to have adequate spark with the COPs, and my idle went south on the EMU, it was controlling the idle ok on the 750cc injectors but now wants to idle at 10.5 to 1.
Edit: as i typed this, i now think i need to check my fuel pressure

Hey, Chris. I just got back from Chicago, and your MS is sitting on my desk, along with some other bits and a couple of vinyl decals that say DIYAUTOTUNE.COM. ****, if I'd have known all I needed to do to get a discount was to stick some decals on my car, I'd have done it too.

I'll start into it tonight.

Take good care of those stickers. EVERYBODY knows stickers add at least 10 HP each. And DIYAUTOTUNE stickers ought to allow me to tune them add at least 15 each.

The MS-II folks are darned slow. Be sure to sound clueless or you won't get listened to. :-) Actually, I don't know if any V2.5 betas are coming out yet, but I thought the traction control was already decent on the MS-II. As to the idle.... Well, that's another story. Anyway, I want to keep an eyeball on this project, so I'm just checking in.

It is a '99 motor, but I haven't thought far enough ahead to decide on the trigger wheel. Right now, all the electronics in the '92 chassis still think it's a 1.6.

Priorities are:
1) Driving the COPs (15 PSI at 6000 ft above sea level displays the weakness of the stock coils)
2) KnockSense MS to pull timing if bad things start to happen
3) A little better partial throttle control for those times you just can't be WOT and getting rid of the stock ecu so I have no lean tip in etc to contend with
4) Flex fuel support to handle variable percentages of ethanol in the tank
5) Traction control if it makes a come back

That should see me through until Christmas anyway. Maybe Santa will bring me a 36-1 wheel, but I haven't done enough research on it yet to tell me what it buys me other than no CAS on the back of the head (which I don't mind).

If you're running an MS-II, you're likely not going to run the CAS anyway - and the CAS if cam-belt-driven, so your timing will wander. Wandering timing means you have to be more conservative, if timing wanders by 3 degrees, you have to set your timing back some significant fraction of that, and that hurts power, throttle response, etc.

I would say to run the stock '99 sensors if you don't want to get a wheel, but a wheel should be cheap (a friend of mine had some water-jet cut for like $25/pair), and will give you the best resolution.

Very good timing control is one of the biggest advantages of the MS-II, and it costs the same so you might as well consider it. Unless you're running four independent injector or spark channels, you might as well run a crank wheel, it'll even start faster. I may go to a system like that myself, if I do I'll probably still recycle the OEM '99 sensor since I'm just a fan of digital data. :-)

We're going to start with CAS since it's known to be presently functional on the engine. We may later decide to switch the CKP pulse to the crank sensor.

Heck, what's the point then? Why not just put a bucket of gasoline in front of the throttle plates, I'm sure "about" the right amount will go in. It's not more work at all! It's less. One itsy bitsy little opamp and you're good to go.
