Here's the page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/DIYAut...om/57837395932

Don't see anything about that there though.

Edit: It's actually a question on the top post.

I'm building MS2s for the 2001+ models (minus VVT right now, upgrade board in the future), PM me if you are really interested.

Vvt support it planed for ms3 after version 1.0 is released. I have been talking to Ken the developer about it for the past few monthes.

But DIY is also releasing a independent vvt controller that should be out sometime soon.

I don't think I can PM until after I hit enter here... but truthfully controlling the VVT is not my primary concern. My primary intrest is simply the basic stuff, that MS can do to all other miatas (not that VVT control wouln't be great).

PM me with an email or a chat handle and I can talk about your MS. Currently I'm looking at AEM FIC just because of cost/compatability/capability combo as an initial piggyback.

You just need at least an MS2 and you can control fuel and spark.

Ah, interesting. Have been lurking and searching for quite some time and have seen very little if anything about any MS on a 01+ motor. Is there somewhere i could take a look at a kit or some knowledge about it?

Some guys seem to be running really custom setups but I'm unwilling to be a trailblazer in that area.

I have a 2001 motor in my car, running an old skool MSII modded for full sequential. VVT is unplugged at this moment in time.

Look at post #7 in this thread for some info. From what I understand you simply run the ms2 in parrallel for the 99 and up cars unless you swap in an alternator from an earlier car.

Or you save some money on the alternator and build a regulating circuit (e.g. the Jason Cuadra design).
Here's My stab at it and it works.
DIYPNP cost some but is pretty straight forward for a 99-00 if you can solder some and following step by step instructions.
There are solutions for VVT control but not as PNP, yet.

I can solder, the DIY part isn't what causes me stress, its the cutting the wiring harness. And I'm a tuning noob at this point, but I don't see any retailers, or even the Braineack kit offering a solution.

I'm sure I could get a wiring diagram hard wire it in, but this is my DD so I cant afford to make a bad cut or something and take my car out of circulation.

I wonder if something like this: http://www.aemelectronics.com/ecu-pa...s-30-2997-1093 is moddable to attach a MS to the end instead of a AEM computer.

If I could source 2001-2005 connectors I could make a MS happen for it.

I wish I could help you there, I'd love to be able to contribute something.

http://www.maz-max.com/

This is a local Mazda salvage place in Houston. If you can communicate to them what you'd need and if they have it I'm willing to work out a situation where go there get it and ship it. PM me if thats something you're interested in.

My MS2s are DIYPNP-based, are fully plug and play using brand new 2001+ connectors, have all the associated hardware built-in (digital alternator control, proper A/C control, dual fan control, two-stage overheating warning through the CEL, etc). Full feautre list and a video here: https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquirt-18/megasquirt-enhanced-49198/

You can also add your own custom features (not provided by MS2) if you want, I am working on a bunch of features already (like batch injection during cranking for faster startup, immobiliser function, etc).

MezJr, you have a PM.
