Strange PNP harness issue -> Flooding with TPS wires connected
I noticed this when building a harness for another member here. I do not have a VTPS on my car currently (although I may in the near future). However, my stock 1.6 tps is still plugged in.
The issue is, if I have the 5vref wire connected between the MS and the car's harness, my car will flood and refuse to start, necessitating removing the plugs and drying out the cylinders. At first I thought that perhaps the car was seeing a full 5v, but the TPS sig wire is completely disconnected (after trial and error)... I can try to get a log tomorrow, but does anyone have any ideas off the top of their head as to why this is happening? I don't want to mail someone a harness that could be potentially damaging to their car, but I also don't want to give them a not so PNP harness when that isn't what I promised.

What year and model os the harness for? Which connector wiring guide did you follow?
Is the MS shutting down if you have the +5 vref connected to the harness?
I had a issues in making the tps sensor (automatic) working on my car. I finally realised that the 90-93 ecu connector diagram in the FAQ was showing the wrong pin for +5V and that it should be connected as in the 94-95 model.

it locks the injectors open the way I wire the harness. I setup the harnesses to easily upgrade to the wells TPS. They are in my installation instructions I provide to people I assemble units for, but I keep forgetting to add it to my "how-to" here.
