Default How to get AC idle up to work on an NB

Can someone point me to where I can find how to get the AC to work on a 99 Miata with MSPNP Gen 2. I’ve searched and I couldn’t find anything from recent years. All I found was for older Mega Squirts and older versions of tuner studio. The only reason I got the MS over the others was because they said it had AC control and no AC is not an option for me.

My car is weird about idle pwm duties. I wouldn't advise copying the settings. Just showing you where it is. You can also always search in the top right of Tuner Studio if you are unsure where something is.

This are all the options I have there

And I already tried every option there. I even went to the IAC settings to see if changing it to Closed-Loop would help but it didn’t
Thank you for the input that still helps because I'm completely new to this. It'll help me get started when I find where to turn up the idle.

Tried that too. And didn't worked. My MSPNP is not the same. I think the one there is a first gen. Still I changed the analog as it says there and made it worse. My version of the MS won't even turn on the ac if I change the analog.

99 Miata 5 Speed with:
Japanese Engine with no EGR (killed the original because of a faulty Coolant Sensor wire)
Jackson Racing Header
Catalytic converter delete
EBay Aluminum Radiator
(Everything else is stock and working well with the factory ECU. Only Cel Code is for the missing Cat)
MegaSquirtPNP G2 MM9900 for the 99-00 Mazda Miata, manual trans
TunerStudio MS v.6.19
Innovate MTX-L Wideband O2

I want to install a Turbo in the future and I’m beginning to learn about it in this site. And from what I read people advise to get the MS up and running before starting the actual build. And that’s what I’m trying to do. I Installed the MSPNP2 and the wideband and adjusted the timing as the instructions said and even with the base map the car ran better than ever. I never thought it would make such a difference. This is the only problem I've had so far.

from the MSPNP G2 manual:

Air Conditioner Idle-Up:
The AC Idle up feature allows the engine idle speed to be increased when the AC compressor is engaged...The input to be used is jumper selectable and is set by default to Table Switch (PE1).

...

Idle up input: The default setting is Table Switch, and while most users will never need to change it, this setting allows advanced users reassignment capability of the MSPNP's I/O as to better suit their vehicle if needed. The input pin selected here must correspond to the position of jumper set 3, as shown in the jumper selection table below. This allows the user flexibility in choosing the I/O needs for their application.

I tried that. But noting would turn on that way. In the original setup AC works but engine won't idle up.

what idle method are you using?

if the idle target adder isn't doing anything, that assumes you don't have very well tuned CL idle settings in the first place.

Does this MSPNP have a green or a red main board?

he said G2 and suggested it didn't look like the red G1 board in the link given.

I tried Open and closed loop. But I’m a complete Noob about this. I tried the CL values that came with the basemap.

And the MS has a green board. And if I remember well it also had a smaller white board to the right of arrows 10,13,16 of the picture above. I just ordered lake 2 weeks ago.

Ok. I just realized I haven't used any of the optional ports on the MS. Since it is a MSPNP as I mentioned before. I thought it would was supposed to recognize the signal from the stock harness. Do I have to wire a signal input to the optional port "Table Switch" or "Launch"? If so how or where can I find the proper wire to tap? I've read people say something about using the compressor clutch and others the fan relay. Sorry for all the questions but as I mentioned before I'm a total noob.

Do I have to hardwire some sort of signal trough the MS optional port to let the MS know the AC is on? Or is it supposed to know the AC is on trough the factory wire harness already connected to it.

No, the A/C switch going into Table Switch (PE1) through the factory wiring is already doing that.

Ok. I'll keep digging. I was afraid I had to start splicing cables. Thanks

Try enabling Port Status under Project Properties, then make a data log of trying to activate the A/C idle up and post it along with your MSQ. This will show if you're actually getting the signal into the unit.

Got it to work. (Kind of)
***Now I just need to find the “Compressor Delay” on TunerStudioMS v3.0.05 to adjust it. Does anyone knows where to find it?
