Default variable TPS - signal dampning?!?

as I've got a 1.8 I have a variable TPS, one thing i've noticed though and it causes a few minor issues when going into overrun for example is the ADC count varies when the engine is running.

when the engine is off and the ignition is on it's steady as a rock.

Is there anyway of 'dampning' the signal, or can I fiter it to remove the variation?

In my parallel setup to get the TPS signal i've just tapped the signal line, I've not done anything else.

Actually i was getting ready to ask about this as well.
When I go to calibrate my '99s TPS i set the off throttle then floor it in 3rd gear and hit the button. It is different every time and I found that if i keep the pedal floored and continue to hit the button that the WOT value continues to go up as long as I hold the throttle down. Does this mean i have something hooked up wrong?

that is odd... mine doen't continualy rise, it just fluctuates between 4-5 ADC counts

This sounds like ordinary, minor noise. You can try a filter if you'd like, maybe a capacitor on the line.

I'll give that a whirl, I think the small movments are kicking off my AE enrichments - and with my too big injectors I occasionally get a stutter when warming up from cold.

Any suttestions for cap size?

Good to know something isn't fundamentally wrong too

many thanks Matt
