Default MSnoob, spark question

ok so my car runs. it will sit at a idle, it will hold a constant rpm. but any sudden throttle input will cause my timing to drop to 5*. i tried to take my car for a drive, any one who has seen my vid know that the car is running very rough. its bucks alot cause it keeps switching from whats on the map to 5*, what do i need to ajust? is this some sort of accel setting? ive been trying to do my homework as much as i can, my dyno appointment feel through untill the 9th of june, so with the time i have id like to get the car running a little better by using ve analize live. it should run pretty good once i get this timing issue figured out

thanks
josh

maybe this will help, looks horible
i know when i bring it to get tuned they will figure it out, so i dont want to **** with it any more out on the road. and i need to get the rings seated so i dont want to **** around. i can afford to loose this engine because i dont know what im doing. but id still like to know why im getting the spark dips. when i look at this in megalogviewer both the accel and decel will flash red now and again, especialy when the spark dips. and run:y is constant red

i cant even work on the A/F cause i can accelerate smooth enough to get anywhere. when i took this log i was running ve live. also this may have something to do with it, im not running a stock miata tps, i have a ford 3 wire tps on my edlebrock throttle body

this is how edlebrock told me to wire it

ford tps...........................miata tps

BLK---------GROUND-------BLK/BLU

GRN-------VARI OUTPUT-----RED/BLK

ORG---------5V REFF--------GRN/WHT

i believe i had a red wire left, i caped this???

so after looking through my logs somemore i have another question
this is the TB im running(but a 75mm)

the only way i have to set or ajust my idle is with that screw that directly changes butterfly angle to allow more or less air to pass. now say this it was set to a unknow positions, somewhere close to where it should be but not perfect.i calibrate it there, run the car, ajust the screw to get my idle where i want it. but dont re calibrate. could this be messing me up? maybe i should calibrate tps at full closed then the screw up for the idle?. only reason im asking this is cause when i calibrated the tps, i remember the closed number being somewhere around 40. and when i look at my log, closed throttle is around 16?

not recalibrating wouldn't mess you up that much only by a unit or two. And the tps is used way more for accel enrichments, where it calculates it's change per second.

For your bucking during accel problem I'd check your accel enrichments first. Does your afr go way lean or way rich during the accel? Make sure RPM based accel is turned off too.I'd post up some numbers from turbo cars to gt you started but all my msqs are on my laptop which has a fucked motherboard.

Go through all your settings again, and make sure you dont have something that is retarding the spark to some ungodly low number with some combo of MAP, throttle position, temp ect..

Havign the TPS miscalibrated would throw the thottle % off, so make sure its redone too, car not running of cource, to make sure you can get a solid number for full throttle, expecaly if you made changes to the TB.

something that retards timeing for IAT change could be messed up too

if you use launch control, make sure its not activateing when you dont want it too, it can set timing to a set number, i think 5 was the default value, that might be activating with throttle input, i belive that there was a wire on the trasmission that had to either be cut or spliced for it to work properly, I thin it will be "on" if the car is in gear if that has not been modded

If traction control is activated, it also has settings to retard to and/or from the spark map

This all i can think of off the top of my head that can influence spark, and setting it to a fixed 5 degrees, ill post later if i find anything else

i just checked the launch control and it was on, i turned it off. ill give it a shot after work. all im looking to do is get this thing to rev somewhat smoothly. if the accel enrichment is off im not worried, ill have my tuner ajust that. but id like to get the timing issue solved asap
