not sure if i am missing something, its a 9495 mspnp, read thru directions, never mentioned anything about loading any firmware or anything, not sure what kind of error this is, anyone? i can paste it, but i have a screen shot.

controller code version does not math signature in MSnS-extra.ini.
(see audit.log where the above file was found)

expected "MS1/Extra format 029y3 (found in ini file)
received "MSnS-extra format 029q (from controller)

table corruption may occur, this is usually a very serious problem

You must have bought that MSQ a while back when they were using an older firmware. To fix that you have a two options. Get the old project folder with the correct files so there aren't any discrepancies or download the latest project folder that includes the right firmware from http://www.megasquirtpnp.com/mspnp_downloads.htm then reflash it with the new stuff. Up to you.

just bought it, i got it thru corky at begi. if all it needs is updated firmware, that shouldnt be too bad. as long as its not fucked

A brand new PnP unit that needs to be flashed. That's the kind of thing that scares those of us on the edge of buying one.
It would be nice if it came with a checklist...
1 Plug it in here & here
2 Set the following settings. A, B, C, etc.
3 Start car & check this & that
4 Drive easy until ...
5 Track it (drive hard)
6 install Boost!

Of course, I like everything nice & easy.

you need to simply activate 029v firmware in your configurator.


you need to download the PNP .exe file from DIYautotune. it will load megatune with the correct firmware.


Chad, you told icantdo55 the same **** and he flashed over a good burn with my preloaded msq for him.

should i unintall the existing software on my laptop first, or is this just a patch or something that get updated? i installed off the cd that came with it. i wish i would have ordered the mspnp at first. i didnt get to the warning referencing science projects until after i installed and removed a whole lot of stuff. it went from a bone stock 1.8 to a BEGi S3, 3" enthuza exhaust, test pipe, and MSPNP all at once. i am fearful that i wont be able to get it running at all even to just set the timing up. I tried to turn it over and it just clicks and powers down everything until i pull the battery terminal and then it resets ( i guess there is some internal safety). i have never done a build of this character, and i'm startig to get a little nervous, the more i read, the more i realize how much i need to learn, the more nervous i am.

Goal is to get it up and running with a base tune and then find a dyno shop local (anyone got a recommendation for NNJ, bergen/hudson/essex county).

will do. do you guys think this puppy is gonna fire with base maps? i'm thinking that if i turn down or disconnect the wastegate to limit boost, i should be ok? oh i forgot i also put in rc440's, and remove the egr valve, heater core, ac condensor/blower, and the rest of the dashboard. one thing i would like back is my power mirrors (sometimes i bring people to the track with me) if just pop it back in, will it work, and if so which connector does it go to? 94 miata

if you have 440s in there it wont fire up, you'll flood it instantly.

and scroll to the injector section. you need to modify the cranking table and req_fuel.
