Well, I've certainly seen instances where the MS outputs bogus data in the serial stream, despite functioning OK. All those of us who've seen MAP go to exactly 100kpa in the logs during overrun (despite the fuel staying off) know what I'm talking about.

You could always try re-flashing the firmware on the MSPNP. I'm guessing maybe that's how you fried your igniter in the first place?

I had the same problem with megatune. Upon upgrading to high res, the rpm signal went away. Did you install the cap? (Sorry if you mentioned it, didn't read whole thread). Dunno if it relates to dash tach.

Going to the mspnp? I read the thread and not sure where the tach issue is. Not showing in dash or megaTUNE?

Read this starting at 32 about the cap. It is a filter of some sort: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/sho...igh+res&page=2

Are you using a corrupt MSQ that doesn't have the correct decoder wheel settings?

i read the thread about the cap, i don't think it has anything to do with my problem but may be a worthwhile mod if i ever get it working. It's just when i switch to the hi-res firmware my ms doesn't get a tach signal, switch back and everything is fine again, all the while the tach on my dash continues to work.

Yeah I know, I was just asking. Thanks for clearing that up. I don't run a pnp but had the same tach issue in MT. I'm pretty sure I just reburned and it fixed the issue though... Try erasing and reinstalling your MT.

I have also a problem...

MY RPM on MSPNP and Tach are death....also on Techeddge WB

But i did nothing for that.. just no more signal... can it be a ground problem? or are the ignitor blown up?

Motor is not starting (running it self), but cranking.

Hope anyone can help

Its a 93, 1.6 NA with MSPNP on Board

start a new thread, and leave out as much information on your MS unit as possible.
