Default Megasquirt Rebooting under Boost

I'm not really sure what is going on, but my MS appears to be rebooting at certain points under boost. So far it has only happened when hitting boost, and seems completely random (besides flooring it). You can see in the log the red lines where it resets.

I'm going to check my grounds tomorrow, but any ideas?

Yeah when you look at the log as a excel it says its a reset, I get them to occationally, I think its a loose ground or a bad ground causeing it.

Is it just the log, or can you actually feel it in the car? Believe me, when the MS actually reboots while you're in high load, you know about it without having to look at the screen. (The first time it happened to me, I assumed I'd blown the engine and pulled over, then happened to notice that it was idling perfectly.)

His SecL counter restarts counting so we know it's a real reset and not just a com reset.

Yeah, investigation time.

I feel it in the car. It feels great pulling, then the car takes a **** and goes straight lean. If I keep my foot in it, it builds the boost up, then craps out again.

It feels like the engine cuts out for a second right? I have been having the same issues with my MS. It is completely random to. Some days I will get a reset while boosting, other times I will go weeks without a reset. Did you build the MS yourself? Have you checked all your grounds? Did you do the cap mod for the tach signal?

I'd definitely check the grounding on this one.

While you can get what *feels* like a reset without the cap mod, what you get there are not resets and wouldn't have shown up on the data log. You are getting real resets. I suspect it's a grounding issue. You aren't running low impedance injectors, are you?

Yeah exactly, just dies for a moment, then comes back. It is prett rough though. Yeah, I built it myself and I am going to go over all of my wiring soon. I don't have the cap mod for the tach. I run a parallel with NA CAS and high res for the record.

Well mine do show up in the log so I guess it isn't that. No I use high impedance RX-7 460CC injectors.

Default Fixed!

For those of you who questioned my wiring skills .

JK =P

Turned out the problem was that my spark gap was too large.

Set the gap to .034 and she runs like a champ.

Thanks

I am having this problem too. I thought I would necro and didn't fail at searching. It only does it at 10ish psi and the tach drops to 0 and comes back up. I am going to try the spark gap. I have allready checked grounds. Do any other smart people have ideas for my failaidz?

Dash tach, i made a crusty cell phone vid. I think it has to do with my IAT sensor though. I noticed one of the wires was turdish. I messed with it a little and it came out of the sensor. So i just unhooked it and it is doing fine now. I got a new pig tail for it today and i will see if that was the problem. Would some sort of fubarage in the IAT sensor cause this. I also recently repaired a clutch leak that sprayed brake fluid all over the back of the engine in the coil area. Also, the coil was coming unbolted so i tighened it back at the same time i unhooked (semi permanently via a crappy connector) the IAT. Does the coil ground through its mounting? I never did log it, i will if it continues after rehooking the sensor up.

Yeah, what ever i screwed with it is fine now. I fixed the pigtail and bolted the coil back up correctly. When the tach fell to zero, the car completely lost power and shot a flame too. I guess the coil grounds to the valve cover some how, or it just got shaken. It only did it at high boost. I will let you know if it comes back. Why the hell don't i just get of my *** and do cops or ls coils.
