Ok im new with the whole thing and have no succes trying to open your msq files so i have done some screen capture to show you the value that are in maybe something i done wrong here are the captures I have tested the megasquirt circuit with the megastim and everything seems to work great.

Remember i use the stock cam sensor and Celica COP But my priority for now is to get a RPM reading from the cam sensor. Car is an mx3 RS with b6t engine but b6DE head

Sounds like you may need a pull up resistor on the Hall effect sensor.

I've noticed something similar on my new megasquirt build (sorry to thread hijack). On the base configuration firmware everything works fine, when I upload a base map msq with a 1.8 94 one from mspnp.com my RPM stops working. Any ideas why?

That config is setup for the 5's CAS in that instance, the basic STIM can't replicate that signal.

The JIMSTIM can.

Aah, I thought it may have been something to do with that, can I just ignore that and plug it into my car now? I'm just a little cautious as i don't want to break anything.

If you want to do a simple test, plug the MS into the car but disconnect the fuel injectors. This way you can turn the engine over on the starter without risk of the engine actually starting, the engine flooding, or anything else bad happening.

This is my preference on every first-time startup. I have somebody run the starter while I observe the timing mark on the pulley with a timing light. This allows me to get the base timing set somewhere close to where it should be, before we connect the injectors and actually run the engine.

If everything is configured properly (both hardware and software) then you should see an RPM indication in MegaTune while the starter is turning the engine.

Note that if you plan to spend a lot of time turning on the starter to troubleshoot a "no RPM" problem, disconnect the ignition coils (primary side) and remove all four spark plugs from the head. This makes the engine turn over much faster and more easily, which will save wear on your starter and battery, and will usually allow the oil pump to actually generate some flow during the process as well.

I ran into the same problem as Seal using a regular Megastim. All my tests looked good until I loaded up the MSnS firmware and PNP basemap. Then the Stim wouldn't show RPM in Megatune. I just wired my MS into my car with only the inputs connected for a while to make sure I was getting a signal from all of my inputs (including RPM), but not letting MS control anything. Once that all looked right, I hooked up the injectors and then the coils.

Maybe i should run ms2extra 1.02 instead of ms2 2.01 setting looking way much easier people with ms2 2,01 looking rare.

Anyone checked my setting in the printed screen?
