I guess I can spill the beans now... and you beta testers can come out of hiding if you'd like

We've been beta testing on a few cars for a few weeks now-- our car has been running the system for 3 months in one form or another, and we've got one N/A car, one turbo car, and one SC car running it as well, for various amounts of time. The turbo car has been running it the longest second to my own car-- he's got a couple thousand miles on it by now I believe.

All of the guys frequent this board so I'll let them comment on it if they want--

System is for the 94 and 95 cars, things change a good bit in 96 so we'll be there next.

Features are pretty much the same as the MM9093 unit, but with the MM9495 we're making the 4 Bar MAP Sensor and Barometric correction standard.

You guys are getting the inside scoop here, there's nothing up on the MegaSquirtPNP.com site just yet. I'm finalizing the manual, updating the software CD, finalizing the base map, and getting it ready to start shipping. Units are in production though. We're a week or so away from the release date.

Jerry, will you be making the map public?

My car is basically stock with a cone filter. No MAF. I think your stock map's (spark and fuel) would be a 1000% improvement over what I have cobbled together.

I will be running toyota COP's, but that shouldn't effect the maps much.

If you could make them public it would be VERY appreciated, when they are ready.

Thanks.

Have we ever let you down before?

Yeah we'll end up posting the map on the MegaSquirtPNP site, you guys that go the DIY route can benefit a bit as well hopefully though there may be minor differences, it should still be really helpful though.

We picked up 12whp and 7wtq over the stock ECU after deleting the MAF. A bit less with the MAF still installed. (think it was 8whp and 4wtq IIRC)

Is that on the 1.8 or the 1.6?

And THANK YOU!

I know who my next order will be with if I need anything else megasquirt related. Maybe a megaview.

is it best to install MS on a stock engine, get it running than install the turbo and tune from there? Also will it run on a stock engine?

that's excellent news, great work!

can't wait to see the 96... (sure I could build one, but what you guys have done makes me wonder if I'd rather just skip to PnP in all of its slickness)

Everyone is going to say yes. The Pnp help alot for been able to install after a turbo. It makes more sense to install it per turbo and learn the system first then run it turbo. Again this also came from having to make sure everything worked right and your fuel and spark maps where working correctly. Jerry has solved alot of those problem with the Pnp.

Jerry that is great news about coming out with the 94-95 already.

When you start doing the 99-00 model, talk to Thomas about a tester,a local with a m45 intercoolered.

Good luck with everything

With the Ms pnP do i still need a O2 clamp? Or does having complete control over fuel resolve that issue?

Pricing will be $725, the mild increase is in the 4 bar and baro correction features.

The power numbers I quoted were on our 95 M-series 1.8l car. Back to back on the same day, same dyno.

I would recommend making a change at a time... so if your plan is to go turbo with massive injectors and the MSPNP controlling it all

1) Install the MSPNP, get familiar with the tuning interface

2) Install the bigger injectors, you're still getting used to tuning your MSPNP at this point probably, including what it takes to upgrade your injectors (which is easy BTW)

3) Go Turbo!

In between each step you'd make sure all is well before moving on to the next step-- if you do run into trouble it's MUCH easy to identify the source of a problem if you control how many changes you make at a time... And it's nice to be familiar with your EMS before you dive into tuning a turbo car with it.

FWIW, I rode in a forum member's car immediately after installing the 94-95, and with NO tuning done at all, I was very impressed at how quickly the car started up and how well the car drove.

It was the PNP. I happened to show up at DIY-Autotune as they were installing it. You know, all of like 10 minutes that it literally takes to install it. It was a forum member's car, but it's up to him if he wants to remain anonomous or not.

Ben dropped by the shop when we were putting it on one of the beta cars-- the N/A one.... as he mentioned it fired up first try, we set base timing, and they went for a drive. When they got back we made a tweak to the idle control settings to dial it in for his TPS and I believe it's been working very well for him since then.

He's planning to go turbo I believe.
