noob wiring question ms1
Hello people,
I have a 92 miata and am trying to megasquirt it, i have the megasquirt 1 v3.0 board soldered up and have the fan and pwm idle mod on it. I want to use the megasquirt as a standalone!
From the different boards i picked up the wiring info but when i tried to start the miata i couldn't get it to start.
I've wired the ms1 as following:
pos 20 Orange = IAT sensor to 2P
pos 21 Yellow =Coolant to 2Q
pos 22 Blue = TPS signal to 2L
pos 23 Pink =O2 sensor directly to wideband LC-1 innovate
pos 24 White = ckp to 2E
pos 25 Blue/white = cmp to 2G
pos 26 Grey = TPS 5vref not in use
pos 27 Blue/white =FAN to 1R
pos 28 Red = power 12v to 1B
pos 29 green/white= not in use
pos 30 Green = idle to 2W
pos 31 green/white= spark output B to 1G
pos 32 blue = injector bank 1 to 2U
pos 33 blue = injector bank 1 to 2U
pos 34 green = injector bank 2 to 2V
pos 35 green = injector bank 2 to 2V
pos 36 brow/grey = spark output A to 2I
pos 37 purple = fuel pump direct to fuel pump relay under dash
Is this correct? also i got the following image from the realtime display which i thought is not correct.
Thank you in advance!
tony

yep,
most of the building came from the stickie writeup by braineack, with the exception of the mods those i got from the diyaututune website article on miata megasquirting.
So the problem lies on the board and not in the wiring??
I forgot to tell that the realtime display is made with the car off but ignition on.
thanks

The problem could lie any where between the MS cpu and the CAS on your engine if the tach signal is your issue.
Does an RPM show up in Megatune when you try to crank the engine? If it does that is not your isssue. A screen shot of the gauges with your engine cranking might give us a little more to go off of.
If you are getting all the gauges to show up accurately your problem could be the fuel pump. Make sure it is turned on. You can test this by turning the ignition on, and going under the hood to the diagnostic connector. With the ignition on (and the MS connected) jumper the "F/P" pin in the connector to ground with a small wire. If you hear a click (the fuel pump turning on) then the fuel pump is likely your issue.
...
After thinking some more, I think the TPS is your issue. You have a 90-93. This means your car doesn't have TPS but rather a throttle position switch. It will only tell MS when you are at WOT. In megatune make sure you are setup to use a MAP base table and accel enrichments.

Check you cranking pulsewidth. 25mS is really high.
Actually, I'm guessing you made this MSQ all by yourself. While this is admirable, when you are starting out its good use other peoples MSQ until you get a feel for how MS works and where are the settings are. You might try the MSPNP MSQ. It is available here.
Once again make sure you are running a MAP based system as opposed to TPS. You don't have a TPS unless you installed one yourself.
