Hello Everyone,

I noticed that this doesn't get covered that much but I thought this could be of assistance for the few Apple users on the forum.

So lets first start by installing TunerStudio. You will need to go to EFI Analytics Site and Download the latest software for mac found here.

From there follow the installer instructions and open TS for the first time to verify it was installed correctly.

Next it is important that you find a serial to usb cable that is compatable with mac. I found that the diyautotune cable works just fine with the rs232/pl2303 driver found here.

Now once you have the driver installed be sure to restart you computer so the driver is enabled.

This concludes the basic setup of of TS and the USB to Serial Driver.

Unlike Windows it is a little different when it comes to uploading new firmware to the MS on a Mac.

First be sure to download the latest MS firmware found here.

Next if you choose to to use the GSlender mod download his firmware from here.(If not ignore How to use GSlender mod in next few steps.

Once GSlender firmware is downloaded locate your ms2extra_3.3.1a_release folder and Copy and Replace the files in ms2extra_3 aka GSlender firmware folder files into it.

Now you are ready to load the new firmware.

This is where a lot of people get confused so I will try my best to make it as easy as possible.

Step 1: Open Terminal

Step 2: type[B] cd /Users/********/Downloads/ms2extra_3.3.1a_release or type cd <hit space bar> and drag and drop the firmware folder into terminal.

Press return...

Next either type ./ms2loader_macos or drag and drop ms2loader_macos into terminal from the ms2extra_3.3.1a_release folder.

Press return and you should see this....

This firmware loader is only licensed for loading Megasquirt firmware onto
official Megasquirt hardware.

Using Megasquirt firmware on un-approved devices is in breach of copyright.
Visit MegaSquirt Engine Management Systems to check the validity of your hardware.

Follow the steps to load the new firmware. Be sure to to change you ECU definition in your Project properties in TS and re load your .msq. I will try to make changes to this How To as needed to help other people along the way. PROSIT!

Thanks for the write up! I have TS working on my Mac Book Pro, but need to upgrade the firmware, which I haven't done before. Your instructions saved me some digging for the OS X procedure.
