More exciting to crank the car up for the first time. Course it's more if you built the MS. Wait till you go boosting.

trying to run the map hose thru the firewall. got the rigged grommet and the hose Tee'd off, but theres a bunch of padding blocking the hole. Is it safe to drill/cut into that foam without hitting wires? Or does someone have a better spot to run the map sensor hose?

The grommet that all the wiring goes through on the passenger side has a little nipple on it. Cut that nipple off. Instant vacuum line hole.

once you install a serial/usb converter, it should appear as a certain com designation in device manager. If you need any help getting your ms set up, I'd be glad to give you a hand.

You're using DIYAutotune's USB-Serial adapter, right?

got them communicating finally. did a software update and it worked fine . loaded the base map for 96-97, didnt start but im 97% sure my battery is just dead, charging it then trying again.

but for reference, im running a 2000 head, 2000 intake manifold, simple ddm works intake, stock header, 2.5" test pipe and 2.5" exhaust, stock injectors. the basemap should work fine...... right?

do yourself a favor and cut a big-*** portal down by the trans tunnel and run every wire through it (with a grommet). Thank me later.

I had issues with killing my battery while I was setting mine up too.

But yes, the basemap should be fine, but a wideband should be your next investment.

whoops, need to update my location. I go to UTK, so I'm in knoxville most of the time

Edit: gonna have to agree with hustler. I drilled a new hole lower in my firewall close to the transmission tunnel because I had to run new MAP, IAT, and TPS lines. It makes things a ton easier to put it in a spot thats easily accessible while you're messing with your wiring.

I'm sure you mean 14.3 because you went into the MS configurator and set it up for whatever wideband you're running, after you configured the output to report 0-5:10-20...which can't read any leaner than 10.0:1.
