Default Discrepancy between Output 2 CLT Temp and Gauge CLT Temp

Sitting in my garage. I finally removed a colder thermostat that I was using and installed a brand new OEM thermostat in my 1994 1.8L.

Using MSPNP Output2 for Fan Control, the original fan settings were 215F On-Off limit and 5F Hysteresis. I honestly never checked where they actually came on and off, because as far as I could tell, the fans kicked on, kicked off, and I never overheated in autocross. Yippee!

In changing the thermostat, I changed the MSPNP settings, presumably, for the radiator fan to kick on at 207F and off at 202F. I set the On-Off Limit to 247F (207 target +40) and Hysteresis to 5F.

According to the Coolant Temp Gauge on my Tunerstudio dashboard, the fan is actually turning on around 5F lower than my target temperature. If I set my target to 247F (207+40), the fans turn on at 202F. If I set my target at 252F (212+40), the fans turn on at 207F.

In the same respect, the Hysteresis value of 5F seems to make the fans switch off 10F cooler than the On-Off Limit.

So, I settled on settings of 252F On-Off Limit and 10F Hysteresis to have the fan turn on at 207F and off at 197F.

Is this Ok, or is something goofy here?
