Question No afr readings in megatune

Hi guys,

I've just installed the MSPNP to my 1.6 '91 with JRSC M45 along with a IAT and knocksensor (from Boris), 312 CC injectors and WB (LC1 + XD16). The car idles fine with the DIY's base so now its time to tune the VE and spark tables.

Though I have nice readings of the AFR on the XD 16 gauge I have no AFR readings what so ever in Megatune. (The scale on the gauge in Megatune is 10 - 19.40) In worst case maybe that indicates that MS don't get the correct AFR (?). Does it?

Before I start to dig the MSPNP up from under the passanger carpet (to se if its sitting on the wrong pin or something), can somone please confirm that I should have AFR readings in Megatune along with the ones from the XD 16?

My wiring:
- The analog 2 (brown) from the LC1 goes to pin 10 on the MSPNP.
- The LC1 is programmed to 0-5:10-20:1 for analog 2.
- I've changed the settings in megatune config to "Innovate PLX, 0-5 10-20:1 AFR".
- I've changed to Wideband in EGO settings.

Thanks!

Yes you should, that is how I have mine hooked up but I have left it on the defaults for the LC-1 programming.

My setup is almost the same as yours, if you want I can send you my MSQ which is tuned for 330cc injectors. PM me your e-mail address if you want it.

Cheers

Someone else just had the exact same issue. Turns out he installed the LC's analog out wire to the center terminal, on the pin that had "10" stamped over it on the terminal. Did you wire to that pin, or to 10 as per the PNP manual?

Did you cut the NB wire in the MX-5 harness too?

Unfortunatly I can't PM you right away -> "To be able to send PMs your post count must be 15 or greater.". I guess it won't be a long wait since I'll try to tune in a while..

I removed the NB sensor and left the NB wire hanging (but taped off). I'll take a look at the connecors on the MS. Hopefully i did teh same misstake as the one Ben was refering to.

I had this same problem as well, and its incorrect numbering on the MSPnP connector itself. I saw numbers on the connector and just assumed that those were the same pin numbers that DIY used, but they are not. With the MS laying flat facing up, they are numbered 1-8 left to right on top, and 9-16 left to right on bottom. You most likely had it hooked up to pin 15 like I did.

Mike,

I think - and hope - that you and Ben are right. If I remember correctly I was a bit confused about these numbers since they didn't match the ones in Boris Knocksense instructions.

I'll get a chance to go the the garage where I have the Miata on wednesday. I'm hopefull that I'll solve the problem with your help

The analog 2 was wired to PIN 15, just like you told me. One problem solved .

Unfortunately I realized yesterday that one of my new injectors that I bought at EBay doesn't work. So know I have to change my Dyno time that was scheduled at Monday

Anyways, thanks for your help!
