Default Running really rich

so i loaded dyi map and car started up without a problem. hooked up lc-1 through brown wire, calibrated it. car runs insanely rich throughout. tried leaning it out from 7.6:1 to about 11:1 on idle and it dies after about 10-15 seconds. produces a LOT of co2. idle is at 7.6:1 to 7:9:1. driving goes around 10:1 to about 11:1

wtf?

ps: fuel req is at 13.2. car is n/a (jr cai, ebay headers, fm cat, ebay exhaust)

Did you calibrate the sensor in free air?

well... i set configurator for lc-1 default. then i went into exhaust gas settings and changed sensor to wideband. sensor was calibrated outside of exhaust pipe. i took it out and hit calibrate couple of times in ml tuner or whatever that app is called

thing is... i checked afr through lc-1 itself and it shows same thing :/

maybe my spark is off somewhere and it doesnt burn fuel fast enough? i dont even know what to think anymore... tried everything already!

LAME!

We recommend configuring both the Megasquirt and the LC-1 for 0 volts at 10:1 and 5 volts at 20:1.

Not knowing the specs of your car, it may just be you need a bit of tuning. Particularly if the injectors on your car are larger than the ones on the car used to make the map.

Ok, that could explain things - if it thinks the air is too cold, it will add more fuel to compensate for it. You need to get it working.

if it's not changing at all double check the bias resistor in the MS. If Resistor has lost connection on one side it will give you a static reading in the ECU.

ok, so iat is hooked up and working.
now lc-1 wobbles a little bit even when engine is off. is that because of i put ground wires too close to each other?

another problem - car is running too lean now
i see 15:1-16:1 or so on idle and it backfires like a ************. ill attach logs in a second (they are on my other laptop)

Why do you insist on telling us that your car is lean or rich. The point of the megasquirt is that it's fully tunable. Instead of posting that it's lean you could spend 30 seconds in megatune richening it up making the car drivable so you can tune the rest of the fuel map. Get to it son.

you sure that lc-1 is calibrate....hard to backfire a car that's lean. backfiring is almost always being too rich.

but yeah like Chad says....time to tune Slava Flav.
