Default Converting Megasquirt to miata

I have a friend with a 5.0 mustang with megasquirt V1. He offered to sell me it for 80 bucks but it is for an old 5.0 mustang. Is it possible/worth my time to convert it to run on a 91 1.6 miata or should i just buy a plug and play for my miata?

Are you awesome with circut boards and soldering, and following instructions??? lol

If not, You are better off buying one already built for your car

I was afraid of that. My wallet doesn't like that answer.. I am going to try and get a used one because that 800 dollar brand new is crazy!

I've done a lot of conversions, but never tried to turn my ECU into a car!

it would take like 30min at most to convert it over to miata mods...then you need harness, but I'd do it for $80.

Does the cars harness not work for this? I have a spare harness i could probably mess with. I would totally give you 80 bucks to help me out with this!

I don't think he was offering his help for $80. I think he was saying if he could get a Megasquirt for $80 he would go through the trouble of converting it.

Yeah. He was just saying "For $80 it's probably worth it"

Though I'm not sure I agree for a MS1

What does a ms1 not have that ms3 has that you would actually need to run a turbo setup?

You are better at searching than I am. That makes me not want to get it

I wasn't saying I'd modify it for $80.

I was saying: If I were in your shoes, I would buy a MS1 for $80 and modify it to work on my miata.

Does the cars harness not work for this?
how are you going to plug the mazda connectors into a db37 connector on the MS?

He told me it had the wires you just need to splice them in. He also told me it was a megasquirt 1 v1. I did not see that on the list of megasquirts i saw on the hyperlink from earlier.

1.6turbokid, read through this and see how much of it makes sense to you. That should give you a better idea of what you're getting in to.

I ended up getting it and another miata. Parted the other one out and kept the motor and trans and all parts I needed and now I have 0 dollars invested. I have more parts to sell and still have 2000 budget because I made all my money back from the part out.

I'll make a build thread soon. I still have more parts to sell and a running naturally asperated miata. The 2k is going to the turbo build. I only need fmic megasquirt injectors left.
