This is the table I've been running with our crap gas.

If you drove ~30 minutes you could get 92 up in Idaho

Here's the table I have loaded in my car at the moment. It's modified version of a table brain showed me...Seems to be runnin great, but there is probably still some untapped hp.

You need to take what Brain provided to a dyno and go from there. When you adjust stuff on the street you're wasting time because you don't know what those spark adjustments are doing. Run what he gave you with no detonation until you can get on the dyno.

looks like I am way retarded (as in not as advanced) as most of the peeps on here. This is a bone stock 96. I changed the 128 and 156 kpa lines (+3 deg) last night and it gave me 9hp up to 184hp with 10psi (under 10 actually) boost. My max boost is about 163kpa - my spark angle is about 15deg at 6000rpm (I think that means 25 deg advance) - 10 deg mechanical + 15pspnp degrees. Is this too conservative? I know the base map for fuel was crazy rich on the MSPNP9697 (9:1) during boost.

15 degrees is 15 degrees. you dont add on any sort of "mechanical advance", as long as your MS is set up properly...

Default 15 degrees is 15 degrees?

The first step in setting up the MSPNP is to set your timing to EXACTLY 10 deg advanced.

When the MSPNP says it is going to advance the timing 15 degrees I am assuming that is in addition to the 10 degrees (standard) advance that you set when you start. Am I off in left field on this? Don't make me read the manual!

the manual would have said that 15 degrees is 15 degrees...

when you lock the ecu into 10 degrees to set your CAS or trigger angle, its set at 10 degrees, when you change it back to -10 so it runs off the spark map, if that part of the table is 15 degrees, then your car is going to be at 15... not 25

you set the trigger offset with the car running at 10 degrees because the car isnt going to idle if you try to set it at 0 degrees :P

with your car running normally check your timing with a timing light. it should match what you see on your laptop display.

ok...then my timing is even more retarded than I thought. So if 15 deg is 15 degs and I am running 15 deg at 4500 with 163kpa then I think I have some room to improve on that 184hp. Thanks for making that clear.....When I get back to a dyno (next Tuesday) I will post the new Spark Table and the Dyno chart...be nice to see that. Does "everyone" have a knock sensor, or do you trust your ear to save the rods?

i tried running a knocksense when i first started tuning the car, but personally i couldnt get it to work very well. i think it may have been my sensor location but who knows.

i have the whole setup in a box in my garage somewhere if you'd like to try it cheap

Yikes! We don't run that much advance on 93 octane!
