Default FYI new version of HR code available

KeithG has continued to plug away at the issue some of you were having going from 029 standard MS1E code over to the HR code and getting the phantom 2500rpm rev limiter and he thinks he's nailed it. I ran into this as well and fixed it by manually copying all my .msq settings over, but he thinks he's nailed it down to a potential code issue when certain features were enabled, such as CLT/IAT related air density, which I know alot of you like to use.

Here's the latest--

If you have any issues post here and we'll make sure Keith is aware of the thread and can chime in if needed.

Yup- even though I don't have IAT/CLT density in use, I went to it the other day while un-downgrading from 029y4 (having gone backwards trying to troubleshoot an unrelated problem.)

While I can't speak to the phantom rev limit problem, it may just be my imagination but the engine seems to start a little better- like it "catches" and fires up about one cycle earlier.

Jerry, I installed this code on Saturday. No issues to report so far, other than the VE table is *completely* off. Also, my CLT seems a bit higher. Sounds odd, but it's registering at 207 during cruise, instead of 203. The positive side is idle is smoother and acceleration is snappier. I should have it dialed in good enough to take some pulls on Saturday.

See you Saturday

i guess ill bite and update. maybe that should fix my starting issues. im having problems where the engine would bog for several seconds right after the engine starts and fires up. i need to press the accelerator for several seconds before the engine starts to idle normally. does anyone know what could this be? when its hot, it bogs so much that it stalls the motor, and i need to restart the motor and give gas until the idle settles.

Actually, that sounds like an entirely different situation.... more than likely afterstart enrichments needing to be dialed in.

No, what I meant was just that it seems like the MS "synchs up" to the CAS just a little faster, and therefore I usually get my first fuel and ignition event on the first or second turn of the crank. Once it has taken that first breath and begun to fire, any problems you've got after that are gonna be ASE, Warmup fuel, IAC (try increasing your cranking PW, and look closely at your fixed MAP / ASE decay, if applicable) or something along those lines.

edit- Jerry beat me to it.

i understand. the car fires up in only one to two turns of the crank, but after that, those bogging issues happen. im going to rule out IAC, im still running parallel.

Tim(saboteur) came round the other night and we put the hires onto my MSPNP. It's running alot smoother right through the rev range and seems to pull just a little better after some tuning too. Just as others have reported the ve table is way off(like 10:1 under load N/A) but that is sorting itself out.

I still cant get the idle control to work at all with the nb idle valve, pretty sure this is down to the cams, so steady dc in warmup only mode it is.
