Default Trubokitty.com MS3X build for 99-00 w/VVT

I currently have a 2000 Miata with a VVT motor installed running factory ECU with VVTuner controlling VVT. Building a MS3X following Trubokitty.com instructions. If I wanted to remove the VVTuner what would be the best output to use to to add VVT control to the 99-00 MS3X? I have thought of swapping CEL to FIDLE and using NITROUS2 to controll VVT.

are you not going to use idle control?

Idle control is on MS3X-IDLE. I was refering to MS3-FIDLE.

yes, but there's a conflict with the frequency of idle and vvt; they have to be identical -- and your idle valve and vvt solenoid dont operate at the same frequency.

OK, so looking into the 2 frequency groups available:

Group A: INJ1 (main board), INJ2 (main board), NITROUS1, and NITROUS2
Group B: IDLE, BOOST, VVT, FIDLE (main board)

I would need to control VVT with a channel from Group A? And since NITROUS1 and NITROUS2 are used already, pick INJ1 or INJ2?

follow the 01 docs for wiring the outputs.

i use nit1 for VVT.

and i use the VVT output for alternator control as seen in the expander board mod.

Ok, makes sense. I will use the 01-05 wiring but wire to the appropriate places on my 99-00 connector. Can I then use the VTCS control for my VICS control (I have NB1 intake manafold on NB2 head). I think I would just need to reconfigure the VTCS output (NITROUS2) the same way as the VICS is in the 99-00.msq as a Programmagle On/Off.

Can the KNOCK input (MS3-5 - SPR3) be configured with the 1k and Zener diode per the MS3base documentation and use "analog mode" with the stock Miata sensor?

Got the MS3/MS3X installed in the car (NB1 car with NB2 engine w/ VICS intake) and got it started and idling. 2 Problems:

1. Rough starting, engine cranks and then sometimes fires/misfires. If I let it crank a few seconds it starts. Think this is fuel related. Should "Batch Fire During Crank" be enabled to add more fuel during startup?
2 When in CL Idle if I touch the throttle the the engine revs to about 3k and hangs there for a few seconds before idling back down to 750 RPM. Any ideas how to fix this? Timing has been verified to be 10deg. If I am not in CL Idle the car idles fine and the car operates as expected with the throttle input.
