Default TSE 12-1 wheel setup, anyone have a how to/settings?

There's a void of information about how to setup the 12-1 timing wheel from TSE.

Anyone who has a wheel setup, could you share how you did it?

You have a 90 so batch injection only.

Just set it up as per the manual as a 12-1 wheel, no need for the original CAS.

90 can do sequential, it just needs two more wires for spark and two more for injection. I'm well past that.

Did you setup 12-1? Care to share if you did?

I've not, but plan to at some point. If you want to run sequential you need to change your ECU, the MSPNP can't drive more than 2 injectors...

For sequential you need to dismantle your CAS and file off one of the inner rings raised bits

That'll give you a single pulse for the cam signal, then hook up the TSE wheel as per the manual for a generic 12-1 wheel

http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms1extra/...tm#wastedsetts

simples.

If you check the for sale forum you'll see I sold my MSPNP yesterday. My MS3X is being ordered today.

Now dismanteling the CAS like that, do I just leave the cover off? Can it still fail like a stocker? I"ve had a cas go bad on me before, I was hoping that this might also be a more reliable setup. If not, ok. I read the other thread about substituting another hall sensor... might hat be better?

Thank you.

Christ no, put the cover back on afterwards!

Another option is to replace one of the CAM sproket bolts with non magnetic bolts bar one, then fit a HALL sensor in the camcover. Basically like Mazda did on the MK2.

Oh, awesome. I have a 2002 engine in my 1990, so I can take off my CAS then!

Not sure on the 2002 engine, that's whats stopping me...

The VVT engine moved it's CAM signal from the front of the camcover to the back, but it's not a single pulse singal, it's 1 then two which won't work, you need a single pulse per revolution.

To use the stock location and sensor you'd ned to remove the two lobes from the CAM, not something I want to do myself.

As you have a VVT engine I assume you want to control the VVT at some point? I'd pester the coders on MSExtra.com (mythblaxer (also posts on here) and JSCortina) to add some extra code which will let you use the 12 toothe TSE wheel with the OEM cam signal.

Note you could use the exhaust CAM and add the signal on the camshaft, but you won't be able to control VVT as you've nothing registering it's movement.

Why wouldn't you want to grind those off yourself? Looks easy enough to do with a dremel. I know it's on the cam, but it's not anything touching a valve, so I'm a bit lost as to the hesitation.

And yes, I definitely want to control VVT.

So I'm going to just pop in the MS3X when it gets here, run it as it is now and tune, then setup NB sensors, then VVT, then full sequential, then setup the 12-1, then setup IAC on my LS1 TB. Seems simple enough.

I'll send a message over to the guy who posts here, thank you.

EDIT: Looks like he doesn't go by that name here. Hm.

I probably typed his name wrong...

...yep I did, try muythaibxr

I have more stuff to sort before pulling a cam and ******* with it to be honest, granted when you put it like that I do sound like a bit of a tart :P

BTW, I'd setup sequential asap, it's a lovely improvement. Hell I'd first make sure the car starts on the MS3, and then straight away hook up the extra 2 injectors.

Alright, I sent him a PM here. I don't have an account at MSExtra, do feel free to give him a message there if you'd like.

Thanks for the help,
