Default MS2 - seeing the settings without the car...

I am an utter Noob

I've run some searches, and nothing seems to come up:

I've got a Reverant built MS2 Enhanced that's been not plugged in for around 8 months.

I'd like to take a look at what the settings are/make a backup, etc... before I start throwing it on the car. (The area I'll be doing that in won't have wifi, so no internet troubleshooting for me.)

I've got the USB-Serial Adapter, with software, etc...

Does the MS need to be plugged into a voltage source to be able to see it, or can I plug it straight into the computer without any other harness or power?

cd..

You'll need power.

I dunno why you want to back it up though. Just plug it in the car and go.

Because I have a list half as long as Faeflora's that went wrong because I didn't check **** out before-hand, and just bolted **** together and "went"?

I'm not into popping the cherry out my last BP4W head, and non-forged rebuild with a lean-event...
