Default TunerStudio not recieving AFR signal

I have acquired a slightly used MS3 Basic from Rev with the CAN module already wired up. From the looks of it, my guess is Rev wired the CAN module himself; so much the better.
Hooked it up, car starts and idles great, MTX-L shows a reasonable AFR (around 14.7 on idle, in the 13s on revving). However, the TS AFR reading just sits at 14.7, which, as I understand it, means it's not getting any signal. I also tried telling the MS to read from the analog signal wire instead of the CAN signal; default AFRs went to 7.x, but still seemed to be getting no signal. I also tried using both the yellow and brown wires from the MTX-L for both CAN and analog situations.

Electrical engineering is not my strong point, so I thought I would ask for a sanity check here.

As far as I can tell, these are all the possible culprits I can think of:
1) MTX-L not getting signal from sensor
~but the gauge shows a reading, so this is probably not likely
2) MTX-L not sending anything to MS
~plan to measure voltage from from signal wire to MS ground; should read ~5V (22.x AFR) when the engine is not running, right?
3) MS not registering signal from MXT-L
~I thought maybe I could simulate a signal by jumping a AA (1.5V) battery between the MS AFR signal wire and MS ground. Any reason this wouldn't work/bad idea?

Is there anything I'm missing? I'm planning to get started with the multi-meter in the morning, so wanted to get some feedback beforehand in case I'm way off base.

Thanks!

I think the issue could be that the CAN module is set up for an AEM where you're using the MTX-L. Someone else would have to tell you how to change it though because I'm not sure.

Hmmm...it appears that the wiring is identical between the two, according to Rev's instructions. Also, I checked the settings in the CAN-bus-->CAN EGO page, and the AFR/EGO page, and they match the defaults Rev has listed for the Innovate wideband. It looks like the only difference between the Innovate and AEM setup is the part where you add a .ini file to the project properties. I checked mine, and it does not show any .ini file there.

Does the attached photo look correct for the Innovate WB CAN module setup (anyone who would know)?

Ok, I'm going to assume that silence means that what I proposed is somewhat reasonable. Hopefully I can narrow it down quickly.

Not sure what setting he was referring to but I actually asked Rev whenever I bought it. You might try PMing him to see what to do.

Just a software setting change in the module.

All the voltages checked out, and I ruled out a bad sensor cable using a friend's as a test. Then I started poking around the software settings; I loaded the .ini on the trackspeed website, and set it up for Innovate. THEN the truth comes out; it says it cannot communicate with the CAN device. After restarting and resetting and starting a new project and every kind of reset thing I could think of, I finally just disabled all the CAN stuff and used the analog input...and it worked! So now I can at least drive the car, but I would still like to figure out why TS can't communicate with the CAN module...
