Default megasquirt wont turn on all of a sudden?

i had problems hooking up my MS2.2 at first but it was due to my inexperiance with the MS i finaly got it running great and after a 3 days of using the car for daily driving i park at home and my car wont start. i have a MS2.2 full standalone i've traced the problem to the MS but everything on the board seems fine? i hooked up the MS stright to the battery and nothing. any suggestions?

I dunno. But the more information you post the better. From what little you say, I have no suggestions. However if you go ahead and write us a book on what you did, how you did it, and include anything that 'might' think is insignificant, we will be able to help you more.

Here's SOME of the stuff you should list.

what year your car is
what mods are done
what version code you're runing
how your inputs are hooked up
injectors, ignitions system, etc.
wideband?
Does Megatune do anything?
etc.

Tell us everything you know and we'll be able to offer some advice. Anything I could suggest now would simply be an overly simplified wild *** guess that probably wouldn't fix it.

alright here goes.....
its a 1990 1.6 miata running MS1 2.2 full standalone with the input output mods on the sticky on this forum. spark out put is L.E.D. D17 and L.E.D D19. another thing is that when the MS is plugged in and the key is on the on position the two L.E.D's (D17 & D19) are *very* dimmly light. normaly both would be very bright, while the car was running. if i unplug the ignitor the two L.E.D's go dark. Megatune says that their is no response when i try to check the connection, i've previuosly used this computer to sync with my MS and it has worked perfect.

On the MS main board, verify that R137 and R291 look ok, in other words- not charred or discolored. Check with a multimeter to be sure that you have continuity across the two pins of D38, and that you do not have a short between C107 (either pin) and ground. Lastly, on U6 (the RS232 transciever), what voltage, if any, are you getting between pin 15 and GND with power applied to the MS?

i dont mean to sound like a newb but i cant seems to find r137 or r291..... or c107 or d38.... are u talking about MS2.2 pcb? i did find pin 15 on u6, its getting 9.79V

Ok...

With the exception of U6, I made up all those other part numbers. This was done partly to demonstrate the futility of us remotely diagnosing your MS based on the description your originally posted, partly to amuse myself at 1AM, and partly in the hope that you'd have gone far enough to look at the schematic and say to me "Uhm, Joe, you're a retard. The C, D and R numbers don't go anywhere near that high" and perhaps more importantly, "Joe, you're a double retard- pin 15 of U6 is a ground pin."

On the other hand, if you are in fact measuring voltage on pin 15 of U6 relative to chassis, then you may have just found your problem- faulty ground connection from the MS to the car.
