Yes leave them off. I think bad stuff happens if you put them on

well my circumstance is still fail here's my own thread in case anyone else goes down this path trying to make their vvt box and ms work together
https://www.miataturbo.net/ecus-tuni...se-help-66807/

i'm posting logs and info now in hopes someone can help, but i have the feeling i will probably have to wire min independently like you did

Are you sharing sensors?
I literally have mine vampire tapped to the crank and cam sensor wires. The only thing independently wired is the ocv and I'm going to change that eventually for easier swaps back to stock.

Ill check out your thread

so you're saying you just intercepted the wires needed for the 15 pin plug (wires for cam and crank pos sensors) on the vvt box before they get to ms?
my vvt box currently gets everything from ms - not totally sure about what's happening on the board, but the biggest failure i've already come up with is the rpm in tuner studio and rpm on the vvt software don't come close to matching
so that tells me there's a failure on the ms board somewhere to get this signal to the vvt box properly

me or him?

in my case the crank and cam pos sensors come into ms via the stock plug - then they go to the vvt box and back to the ms board some how??

i'm just thinking that what ever is happening with ms is the fail point - becuse the rpm is so screwy in between the 2 (vvt box sofware and ts)
i may just get the wires before they go into ms and go straight to the vvt box for cam pos and crank pos sensors

i posted a composite log and normal log in ts on my thread..

all i know is that it doesn't appear that any of these ms2 vvt box combos work without some major changes
i know the 2 previous folks that had it before i got ahold of it never used the vvt box....

well, it might be wired directly into the VVTuner and then out to the MS, where the VVT is feeding the MS the signals now? or it could be going into the MS, then directly back out the VVTuner through the DB15? Know these sorts of things helps figure out the issue and ultimately a solution.

I think "sharing" signals is a better way.
