I had it running on in OSX but all I could do was look at my msq files. I couldnt get my serial to usb device working in osx or I would use it all the time.

Ditto, it is quite cool, but even tho MT isn't exactly intuative with it's menu's etc, I found re-learning where everything was a PITA and haven't really bothered with it since

I haven't even gotten into tuning yet, and just searching on a whim I found out that someone had developed a Linux flavored tuning tool.

I've secured an old IBM ThinkPad for tuning, and I know that Linux would run leaner and meaner on this old thing. So I'm thinking about going this route. I just wonder what I'd be losing..... group support because of radical differences? hmmmm.

There's plenty of support for MegaTunix, however MT is hardly an intensive program, it'll run fine on Win98 and a very basic spec machine.

Just choose whichever is best for you they both have advantages and disadvantages.

i too couldn't get my mac to find my usb-to-serial adapter... a serious PITA... means I have to borrow a lame XP machine from work when I want to tune.

I have an old Toshiba Libretto with only 16MB of RAM but I was able to get MT up and running by using a program called 98Lite. Basically you need both your Windows 95 and 98 discs and it allows you to install Windows without the IE integrated stuff so it doesn't chew as much RAM. Seems to work well.
