Default MSnS-Extra or MSII?

A lot of people seem to be using MSI, is that just because MSII is still too new or is MSnS-Extra better?

I'm still thinking i'll got with II but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Thats supposedly been fixed in the latest revision of MSNSE II. I am going to be building MS II for my next build and will try it out. They still haven't added boost control to it yet though, but that will hopefully be implemented by the time I get the car running.

I was going through a phase of being pissed at the miata because it was dead at school 4 hours from my actual home. I ended up uhaul dollying it home and putting in a used longblock so I could drive it while getting the fe3 together. I am buying a fe3 with wiseco pistons, pauter rods, custom valve springs, retainers, 1mm oversized valves, custom solid lifter conversion, coper head gasket, and custom high pressure nitrogen filled orings to seal the combustion chambers. The motor was built to run 40+ psi on a drag car. I am buying it because the price I am paying isn't too much more than I would have ended up spending on the torn down fe3 I have in my little shed in my apt minus all the headwork, and the forged rods. So its a great deal.

I am not going to be using it in a drag setup though, but for road racing. I bought one of the new borg warner S256 turbos with the extended fin technology because I found a factory remanufactured one for $400. It is supposed to be euqivalent to the GT3071R. I have basically everything figured out except my wheel/tire setup. I'm not sure if 225's will be enough of not. I never had traction problems with the gt2554r at 200whp, I drive aggressively but I don't smash the gas from a stop.

But to stick with the topic, you can now go with both of the things in the topic title. Only you are using MSnS-Extra 2 with MSII. One of the biggest benefits of it are greater control of large injectors because the sample rate is like 100x faster. But for a miata motor running 550cc injectors or less I personally wouldn't go with the extra expense. A MSI setup will control that fine. I will be using 1000cc injectors on my setup.

I've been waiting (almost) a year for the router board and GPIO to come out. The development news sounds encouraging but nothing is out yet.

Has anyone done EBC with MSnSE2 yet?

it has not been implemented yet unless there has been a new release in the last week.

ms1 extra is more capable at this point than ms2/ms2 extra. there really is no reason to go with ms2 for our purposes.

Yeah Im usually one to get the lastest versions but as I was looking it did seem like MSI was better. Seems like it would be cheap to upgrade later on too when MSII is further developed. I think thats what I'll do.
