Default 50 trim T3 MSQ for 1.8L

Anyone else running a 50 trim t3 on a 1.8? I'm looking for a MSQ to get me started and reduce tuning time. I've got it running right now NA, but next weekend is scheduled for boost.

I'm also open to larger trim turbo maps for the 1.8. I'm cool with running rich as **** in the top end until I tune. Oh, and I'll be running on the stock wastegate for a while, which I believe is 8-9 psi.

Why dont you use the MSPNP map for 94-95. Its scaled for boost and it should get you started.

that's an option, but I'm trying to find something more dialed in for the application.

Arkmage, I'll be installing a T3 w/ a .63 A/R with my local tuner's assistance this coming week. I have a 96 and will be installing an MS built by Chad in parallel; let me know if my setup will be of any good to you.

Rafa. I'll have an MSQ close enough for you to get the car going.
Arkmage. DIYautotunes fuel and spark maps will be close enough for you to get the car on the road for some street tuning.

Thanks Chad, I just told Arkmage about it because I'm also going to be using 550cc high impedance injectors.

I don't know my right ear from my left one about tuning but I trust my local tuner. This guy is frequently called to the BVI to tune cars for those guys. He knows what he is doing, in fact he is currently in the process of buying his own dyno.

TA is My new to me 1995 Black hardtop Pontiac Trans Am A4 LT1 that i got for a steal but, i need to do some body suspension, breack, and tire work to it before i trust it. The plus is the motor tranny and rear are fairly new 30K or so. And it has a lt4 cam trans go shift kit, pace setter longtube headers, and a flow master exhaust. I figured it would make a nice and easy DD esp compared to the miata.

When you are done with it, send me a copy. Looks to be almost the same setup I will be running. .60/.63 T3 with 550's.

I used to have a 73 455. I'll send you some pics. Those things are fun! I had a Hurst shift on it that I could wrap my large hand over. I assume it's got a manual transmission.

When you're done post some pics! (I have to find out how to get the pics I have to my computer and then upload them but as you already found out I'll ask my son, haha). Nice find.

Spaniard: Thanks but the .63 AR turbine will have a much more drastic effect on the tune than say someone else running a 60 trim compressor on a .48 AR turbine rather than my 50 trim on a .48. Your power goals must be a bit higher than mine

Cjernigan: Thanks, I haven't actually looked at their maps. If it's close enough to get me rolling that's better than what I have now. My NA map would toast the motor before I got out of the driveway.

my map will hardly help anyone.

these MSQs are so vehicle specific, there's no point sharing unless it's a base spark map and fuel map.

too many variables.

yeah but my car is all stock.... except for the turbo, exhaust, headwork, COPs, and injectors. that shouldn't make any difference at all in the MSQ settings

if you want it, by all means...

things to note: accel enrichments turned off, cranking PWs are off, aggresive 1.6L timing map, 2.5ms dwell times.
