Default Wiring Harness Philosophy

So, like, is the general idea to give the OEM ECU as much as you can, and only take the lines you need away from it, or is the idea to just give it the couple signals shown in the noob's guide so it can turn the alternator on and off?

I gotta look at it a bit more carefully, not sure what runs the cruise control. Nor what runs the tach on an NB. If not for a tach output, I think the MS build is done, been for a while.

I think I'll just tap signals off the cam/crank sensors and see if the MegaTune registers the right RPM.
